OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS

Was going to cry in a little ball re: UCLA et al., got invited to UCD right after! Folks, I had seen previous posts about UC Davis Children's and assumed I was rejected. I think they are sending in waves.

Can you explain what this method of invitation is? I’m not familiar with that.

"They" weren't lying when they say this process is a rollercoaster. Some people are faring this process better/healthier than others. I'm also of the mindset that, processes like this, evoke a very innate response/reaction that can be understandable and somewhat appropriate. In these past weeks/month(s), I have experienced a full range of emotions about this process. I think sometimes we are taught that it's too taboo for people like us to admit these things, or rather, to not be so public about it. I say screw it. Be human for a change. Despite getting some great news today, my brain is also channeling other emotions simultaneously which makes for a very interesting experience. Taking my ACT approach has allowed me to just "sit" with these feelings. Not needing to modify or reframe them, but accepting them. Knowing it is fine to experience these feelings and not be ashamed of them.

Good idea! I had never considered this was an option. I just emailed my DCT to ask what he thought. Thanks for suggesting this. Luckily, I somehow have interview offers for 3 sites, so I am feeling extra glad and extra grateful they could overlook this mistake! Wonder how many lists it may have booted me from, though. Ack!

It’s a stressful process! I think this is a pretty minor oversight. You have info about your clinical group experiences in your cover letter, cv, letters of rec, and essays. You have a whole essay devoted to your clinical orientation and they probably can guess based on your program.

I wouldn’t call attention to not having that detail in your packet. I think it would cause TD’s extra hassle and point out a mistake they likely didn’t even notice. I would be shocked if that is a make or break thing. They have so little time to review apps and our apps are LONG

I missed the call, too, but they left a vm. Maybe call back the numbers and just ask why you received the call? Or Google the numbers and find out where they were from?

This is so helpful! I assume if these folks didn't leave voicemails it probably wasn't the site. Googling the numbers did not generate any helpful info.

I'm sorry to be a little blunt here..but why are you delaying calling the number back? I'd think about the worst thing that can happen if you call back, versus the worst that can happen if you do not..

Has anyone heard from the MUSC neuro track?

I have not. I've seen two days of invitations, seemingly for different tracks. However, looking at last year's thread, it does not look like their invitations were specific to track. So I have no idea what to expect given their tendency to engage in a legitimate 'rolling' process. Maybe those who were invited can let us know if the invitations mentioned their desired tracks.

Well, the worst thing that can happen is activating a SPAM scam, of which spoofing a number and not leaving a VM is a very common thing. As for the chance that it was UMASS, they'll call back, if so. Sites will not cross someone off their list of interviews simply because they did not answer their phone right away or call back if no message was left.

I applied to the general, trauma, and child track and I got an interview invite on Monday! They didn't mention the tracks at all so I assume it's just completely rolling.
