oh really? 😛 that's good to know. I'll have to be more careful next time when I go over my exam not to change any of my original answers.

AAMC 3: PS: 13, VR: 10, BS: 12 --->35

AAMC 7: PS: 14, VR: 9, BS: 11 --->34

AAMC 8: PS: 14, VR: 13 , BS: 12 --->39

Just took AAMC 9 Today:

PS 13, VR, 13, BS, 13 -->39.

I'm still kind of skeptical of the crazy jump in my verbal score overnight (literally). Good luck to everyone.

Hey, those are some nice scores you've got there! Anything different about AAMC 8 and 9 for verbal? A different approach perhaps?

Thanks for the comment tartrate! I'm pretty happy with the scores so far, but it's test day that matters. I've been following the EK approach (basically spending a good 2-3 minutes reading each passage trying to get above all a good idea of what the main point is). I think what I might be doing different is I'm making sure I have a clearer idea of what the passage is about and what the author's stance is, before I jump into the questions. Otherwise, I haven't done anything really that radically different. For all I know it could just be dumb luck at the 7-9 questions I normally guess at for verbal?

I'm taking AAMC 10 verbal tomorrow so we'll see what happens.

Just took the physical sciences part of AAMC 4.

Got a 7, I'm kinda bent- was hoping to do better cause I got a 7 on the last physical sciences section I did (AAMC 7).

BTW, I sort of thought that the curve wasn't very generous...62% of physical scienes is still a 7? o well...

P.S. Im a little worried about Killinsound- he hasnt posted any absurdly high scores in a while...where are you? lol

Hes on leave till the test in behind him

AAMC8-- 30 10-9-11
AAMC4-- 34 13-9-11 (This physical was way too easy)
AAMC9---32 11-9-12 (1 pt away from a 12 on the phys)

That damn verbal is killing me. I can't get above a nine for the life of me. Daah well.

I still need to study bio and ochem... i've spent the last week studying only physical and i've slacked on the bio... hopefully i can review it by the 12th when i take the real thing

took the 10R today (2 days before test! ahhh!!!)
PS 11/ VR 10/ BS 13 -> 34

There were some toughies in the PS, and the VR answers boggled my mind.

Just took AAMC 10:

PS: 14, VR: 9 🙁 , BS: 13 --->36

I apparently I had three very bad passages on the VR. I showed some flashes of brilliance with the last 2 13s on VR sections (AAMC 8/9), but I had a feeling something weird was up. Good luck everyone.

Hi,
Great job. My first two diags that i have taken are pretty much the same score as yours. can you give me some feedback on how you have been studying which has obviously improved your score. I have only taken the first three tpr ones and my scores are under 20 still thanks for any help:luck:

I've just been studying the TPR review books and doing the homework for BS and PS, after I finished the full review I go over any topics I get wrong on the diags until I know it... My verbal increases are due to my abandoning of the TPR method and my just reading the passage carefully/quickly and looking for main ideas... Good luck its almost over!!

What strategies are you using to make so higher, normally, on the verbal?

EK methods with a mix of Kaplan (I guess). I just read the passage (I try to do so in 2-3 minutes max) and before going to the questions I make sure I can summarize the main purpose of the passage and what the author's stance is. After that I attack the questions and pay special attention to what is being asked before I jump to the answer choices. After that I just cross out the abovious ones and I'm usually left at a 50/50 on most hard/moderate questions. At that point I make my best educated guess. Normally it works.

I realized I missed 7 "easy" questions on AAMC 10 because I got caught up spending too much time on harder questions.

I think he heard that the Medical School of Heaven requires a 46 to be considered for admission and now he's in a funk 😀

Took AAMC 9 today

P, 9 V, 8, B, 7

The last ones I took were
AAMC 4: P,7 V,9 B, 9
AAMC 7: P7, V9, B8

I had a lot on my mind taking the test today though...

Do you think I'll be able to pull off my best scores in each section?

Cause a 9, 9, 9 wouldnt be too bad, why are my scores all over the place???

Hey its ok man, except for my PS score at about 11-10. My other sections are all over the place.

Anyone who is taking the kaplan course and is used to the kaplan full lengths having difficulty on some of the aamc CBT questions because they seem to simple and you over analyze them? Seriously I seem to make the most asinine mistakes on simple material because I think that it must be more complicated than it is. I'm guessing due to the seemingly higher level of difficulty in the kaplan full lengths, specifically physical science.

I am in the same boat! I'm doing well on my Kaplan FL but when I take the AAMC tests, I miss the easiest things due to over analyzing them. Have you taken the actual MCAT yet?

With the curve, I wonder how if it will be more generous on the actual test, seeing the population dymanics of the test takers will vary.

luckyn07:

Your verbal score will never drastically increase. You get to a certain point (most people about 9-10ish) considered a treshold. To improve your score about this treshold requires a.) a lot of time (i.e. consistent practice for months on end and b.) luck. Stick with a couple passages a day and just hope for the best.

To improve your overall mcat score work on your physics and bio skills. You can improve each of those sections 1-2 points easily in 2 weeks if you really want to.

AAMC tests
I had an informative post but it got lost and now I am lazy
in short my scores fluctuated a lot
I got 13s here and there at least one in each section, one test I got two 13's and i put 36 up as an estimate of getting at least a ten on the third section even though I hav not gotten any tens or lower in a while

my study tactic...learn physics up from a PR test of 6, that pretty much took all my time

My scores are very similar, but my 9-10 is usually VR. Best of luck!

AAMC 3CBT
14PS 11VR 11BS (36)

AAMC 4CBT
14PS 11VR 12BS (37)

I'm starting to get back into studying for my May 25th administration... glad to see that my physical sciences ability is still up, so I think I'll just cram biology for a month and see what happens. Verbal is not going anywhere; I don't have enough time to actually improve that much in this area.
