Hi guys. 🙂 I'm going to Mercy College's pre-vet program and I read that they have an articulation agreement with Ross. I messaged Ross on Facebook to ask about the nature of said agreement and this is what they told me:

"We do have an articulation agreement with Mercy College. An articulation agreement is an official agreement for students who have completed their undergraduate junior year and have met the academic criteria established in the articulation agreement. These students will be promised early acceptance at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in the semester following their graduation. The requirements include:

o Overall GPA 3.25
o PGPA 3.00
o No D or F grade in any pre-reqs
o 25th percentile or better in each section of the GRE
o A positive recommendation after an in-person interview and submission of two letters of recommendation.
o Additional Mercy VETC courses"

Does this mean you have a foot in the door or is it mostly for show? I'd prefer to go somewhere in the continental US but to be perfectly honest, I'm not very picky.

My university also does this with Ross. I would see it as worth considering if your stats weren't all that great and you didn't think you would get in anywhere state side but the cost of going to school there is pretty extreme. You certainly can meet that cost out of state at some of the US schools, but it would be my biggest hesitation.

My school has the same agreement with Ross. I think it gives you a good foot in the door. As long as your interview goes well and you meet all the requirements, you're in! Most people at my school use this as a back-up and apply to places in the US they'd like to go to and to Ross as well. If they don't get into anywhere else, they go to Ross. Others really like the school and want to live in the Caribbean so they apply and go on their merry way! It really depends on whether you think this school is a good fit for you or not. If you'd like to go someone else, I'd say go ahead and apply (you'll never know if you don't try) and if that doesn't work, try Ross!

Yeah, I'd miss my family a lot, too. Cornell is only two hours away from me so that'd be nice. It's good to fall back on I guess. 🙂

The 3.25 thing kinda messes that up. That's enough to get into a US school if you play your cards right...

I think my school's agreement actually requires a higher GPA. I've never looked into it, so I'm not positive, but I remember hearing that a lot of the pre-vets were complaining that the required GPA was "too low" and insisting that it be made higher because otherwise anyone could get in. 🙄
