So, I was just accepted off the waitlist at NYIT-Arkansas (Arkansas COM) and was wondering if I should stick with the school I had originally decided on, AZCOM, or should go with this newer program.

The school is brand new, with amazing equipment and on a busy campus as well (which I think is a plus). But this means that the program is untested, and many not have good connections. AZCOM is also very expensive, which for me doesn't make much of a difference.

I am primarily interested in good rotations, good academics/board scores, research and good residency connections.

And yes I realize I should have put NYIT-Arkansas

I see an ongoing trend that more DO school comparisons are happening in the DO Medical Student section - can we please post these in the appropriate spot in the PREMEDICAL section. If a moderator could place this in the appropriate section it would be greatly appreciated as the medical student section is starting to become cluttered with DO premedical student threads.

AZCOM and it shouldn't be a question, do not choose a brand new school over an established one. And the school you were accepted to isn't ARCOM, which is a different school, but a NYIT branch which will have very little state support as the state doesn't really want them there. All of the state's medical resources are affiliated with the actual ARCOM, and the MD school in AR.

OP, ARCOM and NYIT Jonesboro are two different schools.

Anyway, go to AZCOM. More established, proven track record, fairly well-respected.

I've seen you post a lot about NYIT-AR, can you please provide the resources which you are getting your information from?
