I just turned in my list of 20 bases and was wondering if anyone has ever found out prior to April where they would be going. Also, when is a good time to start hounding your assignment officer to try to nudge them toward a place you would like to go? Thanks.

Let me guess, if they air force gives you one of your top twenty bases they consider you a “satisfied customer.”

The army briefed something like that to me when I got commissioned, “97% of commissioning officers received one of their top 6 choices for military branches”

And if you don't fill out all 20 slots, they will fill in the rest for you... at of course the most undesirable bases on the planet. That way you are a "Satisfied Customer" and Thule, Greenland gets a doc. More importantly, the assignments officer will get a medal and early promotion for sodomizing another naive physician.

I was wondering if someone could point me to where I could find a list of bases to chose from in the army after residency.
