as my 45 days post-interview come upon me, i just wanted to check and see if other people had heard from buffalo? were they on time-ish or did it take a while? and - i know the answer to this is probably in my huge pile-o-med-school-crap that i just cant drag myself over to - but how do they notify you? are they the email if its an acceptance/waitlist?

I interviewed at Buffalo mid-November, Nov. 17th or there abouts-not really sure how many days thats been. And I got my waitlist notice in the mail on Saturday.

thanks! im kind of expecting a waitlist, but am just anxious to get it - ya know? lets hope that rumors are true and it has a lot of movement

Hey Ambs,

I interviewed right before Thanksgiving and my letter was dated for 1/6. Too bad it was a waitlist though. 🙁 And I really liked the school too!

Yep, I got a letter with the same date. I called up last week to ask about my status and they said they would send me my letter. I interviewed on 12/8.

Too bad it was a waitlist letter - here's to hoping for a lot of waitlist movement this year! And maybe we'll all be classmates eh?

It seems like the majority of Buffalo posts I've read on SDN have been about being waitlisted. I really hope the lists moves this year like it has in the past. I would gladly give up my other acceptance for a seat. Lets keep our fingers crossed. 😉

you know, kaz, your letter is what sparked me! i made a somewhat feble attempt to catch up on the discussion thread [im now like 50 pages behind....] but i saw your post - i was there 12/1 and had a minor freak out that i havent received a letter yet. i get so paranoid!! and it doesnt help that i loved the school too.... *sigh* to us!! hopefully we can take on buffalo together! 🙂

Hear, hear to that! 😀 Do you know where on the waitlist you are, Kazema? Mr. Rosso told me I was in the middle of the pool, and right now that means a 50% chance of acceptance eventually. Here's hoping we'll all get in soon...

....and thats another thing -- it seems like not only is everyone around here getting waitlited, but everyones in the middle 1/3..... part of me wonders if thats kind of what they tell everyone at this point until the interviews are all done and they have a final waitlist. hm. at least it sounds like it begins moving in march, not may [if the sdn rumors are true, that is]

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I'm in the middle 1/3 as well, but he really, really, really made it very clear that it was way too early to tell where I'd be on the final waitlist.

Still, I'm holding onto a lot of hope for Buffalo!

Edit: Oh, and I think they only sent my letter because I called them up to ask. They probably just stuck mine in with the pre-Thanksgiving batch.

Ha. I too was told that I was in the middle 1/3. I'm starting to see a trend here . I guess we'll have to wait until around March to get a more accurate answer.

Hey Guys,
I just got my interview to UB- I'm pretty excited because I didn't think they interviewed to many out-of-staters. Anyways do u guys have any advice on the interview. I was reading some material on UB and it said that by the end they accept 60-70% of those that they interviewed- do u guys think that will be the case this year with all of these applicants?
