"And in response to 3434, that's the fifth most semi-******ed thing I've read."

I will try to be as polite as I can, but are you kidding me??? You really think highly of yourself and as a result you belittle everyone else, as you said. SO STOP!!
Also to answer your "rhetorical" question about sitting in traffic, I commuted for 50 miles all of my undergrad years.
Let me re-state the point I was trying to make as you took one part of it ignorantly, and rather arrogantly, refuted it. I will be slow so you can follow me this time:
My point was we cannot make assumptions why they left and then come to a conclusion that the school is no good. I am not taking either side until the reason for their departure is known.
I am not an apologist for the school. Let me make that clear!!
As for you, please do not throw words like "semi-******ed" around because it does not add anything to the argument. Plus, I am 100% sure that you would not say that to my face!!

You tell 'em 3434. I definitely do not think that traffic is a one of the reasons why the Ravnans left CNCP. At this point, no one really knows why they left except for the staff and faculty members at CNCP and the Ravnans themselves. So give up on this stupid debate. And confettiflyer, why are you bashing this school for? I mean all of the arguments that you've posted doesn't really mean anything. At this point, no one is right. But I must admit that at certain times, your arguments were plausible, but guess what buddy, they're just "speculations" and "assumptions" with NO PROOFS! You've stated your points and defend it, this is also true for everyone else, but don't bullied people with your arrogance. Let's just wait until June to find out who's right. Even if you're right, we still don't want to hear your arrogant crap! And by the way, I will be going to the school on Thursday to check out the progress of the rennovation and asking them a couple of questions that were present on this forum. So do everyone else a favor and keep this forum and your comments as "G-rated" as possible. Go CNCP! Peace!

Aside from all the "bashing" done on this forum, the reality is..CNCP is nothing but a building. It is NOT a school yet. The FACT is there is no pre-candidate status, there is no evidence of hired faculty, there is no evidence of any rotation sites secured, there is no evidence of anything else that was promised by the dean. Yes, like I mentioned before, the interview was a wonderful experience..but reality is, it is just a show. I have not seen their words supported by physical merit or any other type of solid evidence. You mention the speculations and assumptions, but take a closer look. What ever is good and/or bad about this school is based on speculations and assumptions because no one knows anything about them. CNCP does not make it any easier on prospective students by not updating their website (which is the only real way for us to stay informed).

Ok, I still hope CNCP gets pre-candidate status for those of you who are 100% attending. But I just find it ironic that those who are refuting these "bashers" are themselves throwing out speculations and assumptions in favor of the school. Let's just give ourselves a reality check before posting on the forums people. 😀

And another thing...for the poster who thinks transferring jobs is easy. Would you transfer from Walgreens to an independent pharmacy 60 miles away? When you have a family and are situated in a high position, it must be tougher to transfer. It's not as easy as going to your local CVS or Walgreens to apply via their computer system. And as a student, I wouldn't commute 30 miles to school much less 60 (or 50).

Here is one other thing I'd like to put out there. CNCP won't find out if they will get pre-candidate status until JUNE. They request a deposit from you, though I don't agree with this, I can understand why. However, the Dean promises to refund everyone if CNCP does not get pre-cand in June. SoOoOooo...WHY does he go and cash the check 1 month before ACPE meets with them and 3 months before finding out whether they will receive pre-candidate status?? Sounds awfully fishy to me. 😱

The school is probably not financially stable and needs additional money to keep it going. The deposit request doesn't look good to prospective students, as well as to the ACPE.

I am not sure the school will return the deposit if it does not receive pre-candidate accreditation. I guess it would file for bankruptcy and shut down the school.

Once again my statement is being taken out of context:

We should not make a conclusion about the school based on a couple of professors leaving for unknown reasons.

Also, to clarify the statement about relocation, I basically made the suggestion that they did not have to move to Sacramento until later. They could have commuted for a brief period of time until they made sure about wanting to stay at the school. Thats a moot point though, so just ignore it if you wish!

You guys have talked this school to death!!! Everything is repeated over and over again.....just like 3434 said, NOBODY KNOWS WHY THOSE PROFESSORS LEFT, and that is not a direct cause-and-effect relationship of the school not succeeding regardless. Something that should be repeated over and over again, though, is that NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING UNTIL JUNE; SO ALL OF THE IGNORANT OPINIONS, BASHING, DEGRADING, NAME-CALLING, ETC., IS REALLY POINTLESS. Unless you have answers to specific questions, facts, or genuine advice for someone, keep your opinions to yourselves please. Confettiflyer, just try a little harder...there's no reason for you to be on this forum calling people ******s anyway...you said that you weren't accepted into this school. This forum should be shut down, it's not benefiting anyone, and it's probably scaring many students away of something that may be their only chance this year.

He's not saying it's a bad school, he's just saying they need to get their act together. So don't be sad, BE HAPPY!!!! :zip:

I think I had the interview on the same day with Shikamaru. I really don't think that is a MAN.

She's really an active SDN member with all the info and posts. We need this kind of helpful people.

The school is really new and it will take a lot of time and effort and money too..for them to get better.

They gave me a call after the interview for more info before sending me the acceptance. I think they really care.

I just wait until June to see.

Hi PharmD83, would you please post up what you know about CNCP after your meeting with them on Thursday? I appreciate it a whole lot 🙂

Does anyone know how long it takes for the school to update their website once they have received the rec letters, transcript, etc? I noticed that they only updated one of the rec letters that they received from me which was two weeks ago but I don't know what happened to the rest of the rec letters? I think my school sends them out as a batch of three letters to the old address. I called Gail every three hours today until five and no one picked up 😕. Hmmm....

don't worry so much about it. Mine took long to be updated after they were sent. i am sure the staff is busy after the move also. =)

Is Cal Northstate fairly quick about responding to e-mails? I wanted to ask them a question about their prereqs. Should I just call instead?

No, it's not much faster to email them. But I think you'll be less frustrated by emailing as opposed to calling them every 1hr and getting the voicemail. I don't get why this school is unresponsive to phones. I once had to call 3x (all within 5mins) before getting Gail on the phone. 👎

Why not leave a msg then? It's not SO uncommon to call a school and have it go straight to vmail. I've talked to someone every time I've called...up until yesterday. It went straight to vmail. But for the most part, the 4-5 times I've called I've managed to get a hold of Gail.

I have the same problem too. I used to reach Gail every time I called, but since last week. It jumps to her voice mail right away! 🙁

I hope that is a joke...either she isn't there or she's busy. You guys can try calling the other extensions, there are several names and extensions you can find by calling the main number. Gail usually answers every time I call and I randomly called Dr. Hawkins and he picked up right away. Go into the dial by name and leave a message if you have to. I get quick responses by e-mail as well.

Oh my Gosh ppl, why don't you guys just give it a break. Damn, excuse my language, but you ppl are very paranoid. Every time I have tried to call Gail or anyone of the professors, I always get a response. What are you guys doing wrong? It seems like there's a different story every day about this school, give them a chance do get the rennovations done and do all the other trainings neccessary for the school. And today receiving voicemails equals signs that this school is going bad? Why don't you guys try this. Dail (916) 631-8101, instead of pressing 2 and entering the first three letters of their first names, just press 2 and wait for the ring tone. Gail always picks up. Peace.

I'm on spring break right now... maybe they are too?

with all the paranoid posts and second guessing the final out come of this school is making everyone go coo coo for some coco puffs...people putting up posts on why this teacher left and people not answering the phone and who shot JR, whose going to win American Idol and dancing with the stars blah blah blah...come on....😕....why would they have spring break, Kismat....they are trying to get pre-accreditation????????????the school doesnt even exist yet...doesnt make sense to take a spring break for a school that is not a school yet...everyone needs to find there neighborhood Dalai Lama and practice some Tai Chi meditation..Being "at peace" is considered by many to be healthy (homeostasis) and the opposite of being stressed or anxious...:boom:

Here are my two cents. A well respected prof would not tell their boss that they're going to leave the school where they worked for a while and then return for no reason. Something is up.

Will that impact pre-accreditation status? Probably not.
But, like I've said from day one, something is wrong with people making decisions at that school. Yeah the dean has a resume that could rival Albert Einstein, they still make one bone head move after another.

agreed with you!!! Hey did you go to see CNCP today? If so, how was it and what kind of info did they tell you? 🙂

Alright people, here's the udate on CNCP. We all know that Dr. Ravnan was the assistant dean of students admissions and affairs. Since she went back to UOP, there is now another staff from UOP who is now hired to be the new assistant dean of admissions and student affairs. Her name is Cindy Porter. Some of you guys might have hear her name before from UOP. As far as the number of professors are concern, CNCP has hired a full team of staff of professors who will accommodate the number of students for the fall of 2008. The number of professors that have been hired is 14 with one more expecting to join sometimes in mid april. But what is concerning to all of us is what will the ACPE committee look for once they are out here on April 24th and 25th. There are three main things that they will scrutinize. One is do we have a physical building to house a classroom, breakout rooms, conference rooms, office for the professors, and laboratory? And from visiting the building today, the rennovations is up to pace. Almost every professors have been moved into their offices. Two, are there enough professors to accommodate the students. And from what was mentioned above, the answer is definitely yes. The other main thing is that since CNCP is a school for profit, do we have a set amount of budget and is the budget structure correctly? The first time that ACPE came out, we didnt have the correct budget structure that they would hope to see. Now it is completely revised and done. So with these three criteria being met, it is a good chance that CNCP we receive the precandidate status. Gail, Cindy, and Dr. Norman Fong (VP of Operations) sat down and discuss this, and he all of were very positive and confident that this school will move forward.

Now if there's something that they are holding back from us, that I don't know. But from what I do know from the meeting today with them, I am very confident that it will work. With regards to the website not being update with all the faculty members, they are still working on it. Look for the website to be updated in two to three weeks.

Thank you so much for the info PharmD83. I appreciate it a whole lot. How is the classroom, breakrooms, and everything else? The last time I visited, it was still under construction. How far are they from being DONE??? Are there furnitures there yet? THANK YOU again

I called CNCP today and also received some good info. The faculty are writing their bios so the website should be updated in the coming weeks. PM me if you want to know more 🙂.

I dialed 916-631-8108 and always get her voice machine. I'll try doing what you say tomorrow first thing. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you for the update. Your information is the type of exchange that makes SDN so great! 👍

Oh and one more thing that I forgot to mention on the forum was that Dr. David Caroll, the experiential site coordinator have talked to a lot of rotational sites within the Sacramento area. I chatted with him in his office as well and he told me that so far, we have contracted with at least 7 hospital sites. These are our potential internship sites. They are Kaiser, Sutter Memorial Hospital, CHW hospital, and UCD Med. In addition, we are going to be concrated if not yet already with Rite Aid, Walgreens, Savons, CVS in the near future. Yes this school seems very promising and the way they sounded today was very sincere and genuiene. I don't think these people will have the heart to decieve us.

Does anyone know if its too late to apply? I know their deadline is either April 15th or 30th but it is pretty late in the game... I just sent out the recommendation forms to my recommenders and I hope to have everything sent to them in 2 weeks... is there still a chance of being interviewed??

You should still apply. It's because CNCP will accept people till the class is filled =) I am sure that you will have a chance of being interviewed. Good luck! :luck:

Curious...how do they contract with CVS when the nearest location is 2 hours away in Atwater? Is that for vacations when students are in so-cal?

In case you didn't read the thread correctly, I said in the near future, meaning that they are still working on it. So what if the location is two hours away. Dr. Caroll is also working on one site that is as of now, located in Yuba City, which is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away from where Sacramento is at.

yea, i heard about an interview in about 3 weeks... gluck!

PharmD83: I see there is hope. Let us all just see what June brings.

My question still stands, reread my question.

My question still stands, reread my question.

I think he meant they are just going to have relationships with a lot of retail pharmacies in general. Considering he/she mentioned Sav-on in the post and Sav-ons all got bought out by CVS. And maybe the CVS is a 4th year rotation site, not a during school intern site.

Good luck to everyone.

^^ok makes sense, i hope those intern sites aren't an hour away, good lord, i'd hate driving out that far.
