I have an interview tomorrow for a pharmacy technician position. I was thinking of wearing a black polo shirt with dark jeans and dark sneakers.
You guys seriously think I need a button down shirt?. I feel like it is too formal. If I wear slacks and button down shirt, should I tuck the shirt in? Can I also rolled up the sleeves?
Thank you.
are these shoes ok? http://www.shoesteal.com/ProductImages/shoes_iaec1112946.jpg
Mine don't have the brown thing on the bottom. All black
Oh ****, I can't believe I am even seeing this as a serious question. If you aren't even going to be able to wear jeans to work, how can you seriously consider wearing them to an interview, which is always at least one step above the actual work environment on the formality scale?

I've been wearing slacks, button down shirts and ties to work for six years since it was first required by my second employer.
That's not formal, formal is showing up in a nice suit.
Tuck in the shirt, don't roll up the sleeves. Dress how you want them to view you. If you want them to view you as a slacker in your jeans and untucked shirt, that's your call. If you want them to view you as a professional, you dress like one.
What do you think guys?
black polo shirt, black dress pants, and black half sneakers half shoes lol

If I must then is it ok if I wear a white dress shirt with blue stripes? Like this

Do I really need a tie? I don't have any plain dress shirt so am I supposed to go out and buy one just for the interview? Please be realistic.
just because it is from abercrombie then I can't wear it? COME ON MAN. Abercrombie have shirts like you showed me.![]()
Yes you do, yes you should, and no you can't.
Actually, you can do whatever you want. Ignore the advice of everyone who knows more about these things than you do and have gone through it already.
actually I don't need any help from you. You can stop replying to my thread. =

You can stop replying to my thread. You're the biggest hippie in the world.
This is honestly the only business-like shirt I have. It does have a little logo on it but I hope it is ok. I am also wearing a clyborne dress shoe and black pants. I'm gonna throw in a belt and maybe a tie.
I am not gonna go in with my sleeves rolled

Better?![]()
Better. But....
clean up your shoes, get the scuffs off, tuck your shirt in better, and iron it. Wear an undershirt. It's too white and thin.
The kid's 20, and I don't think he's ever had a job (interview) before.
It's the kid's first job interview. I think most of us sought guidance with our very first interview attire.
Those shoes are no good. And for the love of God, don't roll your sleeves. A NICE polo shirt would suffice but it needs to be ironed and not faded. If your slacks have belt loops, you need a belt, too.
Definitely clean the shoes and iron the shirt. Much better than before, though.... you really cannot get to the store before your interview?
RXLEA, does my shirt really look that bad? It is a regular white dress shirt with just a little logo on the pocket. My pants are regular dresspants. It is 10 pm at night and i have to wake up early for another job tomorrow.
I would def wear a tie. My friend works at CVS and he wears a tie everyday he said. I wore a tie to my pharm tech interview and got the job, interviewers like clean cut and dressed nice.
So Costco pharmacists are unprofessional? All that is required for us is a polo shirt, jeans, and a white coat. Hell, if he was interviewing at Costco, what he suggested would be the uniform for Costco w/ the white coat.
I do have a tie and I'll find one that is not crazy colored. Do I need to button the collar lol?
I am not trying to be annoying but you guys seriously think I need a tie? My dad who is a lawyer thinks my original outfit was enough (black polo etc). I am gonna stick with the dress shirt though. YES I WILL CLEAN THE SHOE.

No. Wear dress pants/khakis and a polo or button-down shirt with dress shoes. I say no tie, that's way too formal.
How hard is it to listen from people who have gone through this before?I do have a tie and I'll find one that is not crazy colored. Do I need to button the collar lol?

I was referring to what to wear to an interview. Personally I think a polo and jeans are far to lax
I wore a shirt + tie + slacks to my Costco interview. All of the people who interviewed me including the pharmacy supervisor were wearing a polo shirt and jeans. So I guess I could have gotten away with jeans + polo on the interview, but who knows if the other guy was going to be dressed up right?
