Current D2 semi interested in endodontics but I’m under the impression that my middle of the pack class rank will prevent me from getting in. If I do as much endo oriented activities while working in the navy will I have a fighting chance at a civilian program?

Yes, absolutely. Keep trucking and keep the rank as high as possible. Start working with active duty endodontist in the Navy as soon as possible. Show them that you are competent with Endo. Not just clinically, but knowledge as well. Impress them and you are good to go. Those recs go a long way.

Keep working hard. You still have plenty of time to raise your rank.
