I recognized the passing of the Big Beautiful Bill did nothing to help the poor or middle class. The Bill increased the deficit without addressing the problems this nation faces today. Did I benefit from this Bill personally? Yes. Do I think this Bill should have become law? No. But do I agree with you that Mamdani is the solution to our problems? No. My concern is that the next Democrat Presidential nominee will be too far left like Newsom or AOC instead of Shapiro/Beshear who would represent mainstream America much better. I believe the election of Mamdani will push the Dem Party much too far to the left making the nomination of a moderate Dem more unlikely.

NYC lost a ton in tax revenue the early part of this 2020 decade. As in life. A lot of variables to explain. People migrating out of the area (some of it due to Covid), other other job opportunities elsewhere.

Did lost of Amazon east coast headquarters hurt nyc? It’s impossible to correlate since covid happen. And New York being the epicenter of financial centers can keep reinventing itself.

The dude ends up getting escorted off the plane because the pilot didn’t feel comfortable. White Pilot said black passenger could be trouble if the plane departed. And he proceeds to sue the airline because the pilot was white and he was a black first class passenger.

And another incident where a woman got upgraded to first class. And than get this. Got downgraded to the main cabin cause they needed to accommodate a service dog for another first class passenger (delta 2024)

It’s this insane acceptance of animals where the airline favors a pet over another human being. All the airlines claim their hands are tied and they have to abide by federal aviation rules.

So if u are treating people with pets just like humans. U might as well let them marry them.

So why not allow single people to marry ur pet for the the tax savings. Especially single people who make like 500k Vs married people who make 500k. That’s around a 20k tax savings.

Why not just split the difference and approve 50% of the subsidy amount? If your subsidy was over the 400% allowed limit then you get 1/2 of the Biden Pandemic based subsidy bonus. The cliff gets eliminated and the US govt. forks over about 23 billion more towards ACA subsidies than planned in the BBB. The 100% amount was about 45 billion for just 2026 in increased subsidies.

I don't see the Jewish Governors as having much of a chance from the Dems and Beshear is too Moderate. An outside horse in the race is the Gov. of Maryland, Wes Moore, if he decides to run. Wes Moore vs Newsom would be a tough primary battle. AOC is a Socialist so I am very doubtful she would get the top spot on the ticket even though her base is quite vocal.

We agree that the Big Beautiful Bill was just tax cut pork for the wealthy. I admit Trump threw me a bone like a $15k-$20K tax cut at the expense of actually reducing the deficit and balancing the budget. I expect the Dems and the next Democrat President like Newsom or Wes Moore to increase taxes significantly on those making over $250K. Maybe a 2% increase for those between 250-400 and 4% for the top 2 brackets. I could see even an additional bracket for $1 Million or more at 48% with the $750K bracket at 42% (see the brackets for 2026).

I expect capital gains taxes to increase as well by 2-3% and SS will be "shored up" by restarting FICA at $250K income. All income above $250K will pay full FICA. This leaves a small window $180-$250K where a W-2 employee doesn't pay the SS tax.

I really hope the Dems don't abolish the filibuster or stack the Court (SCOTUS) as that would destabilize our already polarized country.

That anesthesiologist has some balls. Did not know about that company at all. I just checked and I saw it went up ~250%+ YTD.

Why does that gas doc believe in that company? He/she has already won the game with 16M. Can even fly private why that kind of net worth.

Yes. Blame the Republicans because the Republicans have never passed their own replacement for obamacare, despite constantly running against it and having multiple opportunities to change it

And now the Republicans..who control all 3 branches... completely refuse to fund the subsidies.
