that many of you are just going to have to wait a while. If you got in already, it's likely because you really impressed them, so much, that they dont care about all the other people they are going to review now through April. But from what I gathered from speaking to them, they have a load of applicants to review, so they can't really give out too many acceptances yet.

My guess is that late April to early May there will be a flood of decisions, but heck, Im still waiting for an interview. Arghhh...
 
just got a call from my student interviewer informing me on my acceptance! I thought I really screwed up my faculty interview, but apparently the student interview and faculty are weighed equally.
 
congrats, surfbro! now excuse me while i go die of jealously. hahah, just kidding... go celebrate! 🙂

Congrats Surfbro! And good luck on all your other decisions, you interviewed at a lot of great places.

So it seems like they are accepting a lot of mid-december interviewees right now...

Way to be the wet blanket for those of us that have already interviewed!
 
everyone gets so bummed out about waiting here, but the thing is, waiting means you are still in the game. Finding out quickly from Davis means one of two things, and it's typically not the one you'll be waiting for.
 
Yeah, here's hoping that my med-student interview helps me out of the hole I think I dug in my faculty interview. Only as I was walking into the freaking medical library named after him did I realize A) my interviewer was actually someone important, and B) that he was the recently retired chief of surgery at Davis. Oy vey.

From what I have picked up from various people involved in admissions, how much the interview matters really depends on which committee your file goes to. Some committee members value it more than others. Some committees really weigh the student interview a lot, others not as much. Sorry, I know that probably isn't a very helpful answer.

I really do wish you all the best of luck.:luck: Looks like UC Davis is my top choice thus far. I just got about 5 more rejections today so at least it was nice to hear some good news!

p.s. I interviewed in January. I called to ask about the wait time and the lady told me 2 weeks *pause* or more.
 
Rejected today sans interview after about 5 months of waiting for them to parse my secondary application.

I interviewed on Jan 19th. It will be a very long wait for me since most of you who interviewed long time ago still haven't heard back yet! 🙁

Hey, I interviewed on the same date... 😀 I dun think we'll hear until April.
 
Hi, just to throw in some totally unnecessary neurotic obsession,

I counted, from the folks who interviewed in December who've already heard, 11 weeks from interview to decision - 2 weeks for the holidays = 9 weeks for the January interviewees maybe? A total shot in the dark, but it gives me something to circle on my calendar anyway. 🙂

9 weeks sound right 🙂 since we're in our 6 weeks already.....I'm just gonna circle everyday in April to be sure 🙂
 
I interviewed on Jan 19 as well! I am pretty sure we are never gonna hear. :laugh:

I was there too (dark suit).😉 I totally bombed both my interviews so I'm not expecting good news but Davis is my first choice dream school so I can't help but cling to this asinine hope for a miracle. 😳 Good luck, y'all. :luck: 😀

Going to interview there for the PSTP tomorrow....here's my addition.
 
I just received an acceptance in the mail today!!! OMG, I'm so excited since Davis is definitely one of my top choices. I was jumping up and down after opening the letter and reading the first few sentences. 😀

FYI, I interviewed mid-December.

It's getting close enough to the 8-week mark that I have constant butterflies and a looming sense of dread. 😱

(And YES my middle name is Optimism.)
 
I was just looking over some of the earlier posts made on this thread. . . man some of you guys have been waiting for a while. I like to think though that maybe Davis will be getting a little faster with its admits now that they're all settled into their new campus. Or maybe that's just wishful thinking. lol. But yeah, I'm also a little curious, how long did they say it would take them to get back to you? (when I interviewed in mid Feb, they told me to give them a call if I hadn't heard from them by the end of march/beg. of april)

So yeah, just wanted to say that I feel for you guys. Y'all sound like a nice bunch, and I can't help but think how cool it would be if we all found ourselves in class together at davis . . . 🙂
 
agreed, Chev. Well, I would imagine that they would have to start hurrying up if they want to get decisions out for everyone before May 15. so hopefully ya'll won't have to wait as long as us early interviewers did (considering terri told me the committees didnt start meeting on a "regular" basis til the end of Jan). Anyway, i wish you all the best of luck. I am "on hold" and I don't think I'll get a real decision until they are near or done with the end of interviews. so i'm waiting with you all too!!

That's when they told me I should expect to hear. So you should be all set for Labor Day.
 
holy mother of snap! That's awful. Here's hoping things do speed up a little bit and I'm not camping out on the admissions office doorstep because I have nowhere else to go after I graduate from college . . . 😛
 
Yeah, it's pretty funny. I would call them but that hasn't been too helpful; usually they just remind me why I am calling.

Me: Hi, I'm calling because I interviewed in 1987 and still haven't heard yet...

UCD: Wow, you should have heard by now.
