Thank you for doing this. I followed up with Hopkins and Tulane, they said still reviewing applications. And yes, Columbia already picked someone.

Looks like about half of the programs have been accounted for. Guessing we will hear from the rest soon as well.

Also curious, how many programs did y’all apply to?

I only applied to 8...and I don't have a home program...

Definitely wanted to apply to more, but I had some non-negotiable stuff keeping me too busy in the spring, and I couldn't get applications out early. Couldn't make a few of the deadlines as well. Between that, some geographic constraints, and the fact that a lot of places filled with internal candidates, 8 is just what it has to be.

I applied to 20+. Also don't have a home program. No geographical constraints.

I applied to 31 programs with some consideration of geographic preference. Also, I don't have a home program. Anyway, UW is sending invites.

I applied to 6 programs initially in April-June but applied 20 more (late) in August-September. Only received 2 interviews though.

Applied to 23 myself. Mostly in bigger/mid size cities but otherwise no state/region preference

Same for Mississippi...
According to FREIDA, U-Colorado, NIH, U-South Florida, and UT-Houston seem to not be recruiting for AY2026-2027? Does anyone know if this is true? And does anyone know of other programs that are not recruiting? Just so I can get my hopes down for an invite...

Can’t speak for NIH or Mississippi as they were not on my list but USF told me they were not participating this year and Colorados website says they are not participating, which they also said to me by email if I remember correctly so didn’t even apply. Houston is the one I’m most confused about because I asked them if they are participating and they said yes and accepted my application but I have a friend there who says Rapini may be stepping down/may have stepped down (been a while since he told me) and so they were not participating this year till the dust from that settles so I don’t know what’s true anymore.

And I think this thread in the earlier posts has a list of programs that have filled/not participating

Gotcha. Houston is indeed confusing. I heard they usually take internals but who knows what's going on.

Talked to said friend tonight, he said Houston is indeed not taking this year but you can confirm by checking with them as well.

Also heard thru the grapevine today that Baylor has filled and Cleveland has actually interviewed people. Has anyone here heard the same?

Northwestern is sending invites on Sunday. Heard UCLA filled.

Houston?

For programs following the unified timeline, the first offers can go out three weeks from yesterday. At this point, are people thinking that most interview offers from unified timeline programs have gone out by now?

I think this week and next week are in play as most interviews for me have given two week notice but yes I think most have gone out at this point.

what about Hopkins, BU, Mount Sinai, and Vermont? I only got notified by Hopkins and BU that they received my application then just silence. Figured maybe they already sent interview invites by now.

Really? I didn't get any...anybody?

Didn’t get it either. Actually haven’t gotten rejection emails all cycle lol just ghosted.

Anyone hear from Emory, Yale, Cedars or Musc?

Never really felt like the cycle started and now it’s somehow ending

I haven't received rejections from any programs either (including Michigan). Only communication has been to confirm application receipt and for interview coordination.

The fact that there's a mix of programs that are and are not following the unified timeline is not in the favor of any programs. People who take a non-timeline spot could drop it if they later get an offer they prefer from a timeline program, unless the original program makes them sign a contract right away. And October 7th will probably be more challenging for programs than for applicants, as programs can't give out more offers than the number of spots they have available, and applicants have 24 hours to respond. If a program's number one choice takes 24 hours to think on it, and in that time, the program's #2-5 choices take other spots, there is bound to be shuffling of spots. So I don't think it makes sense for programs to do mass rejections yet.

I mean I get that but I feel like if you haven’t even extended me an interview and you have gone as far as interviewing others and sending an offer, just send me the rejection. I can see not mass rejecting everyone they have interviewed at once but people they haven’t even interviewed by the 7th, I feel like the rejection is very implied at that stage

I heard dropping an offer after initial acceptance is a big deal. People did that in the past and their offers got rescinded by BOTH programs

If a contract has already been signed, going back on that formal acceptance is for sure poor form.

Mount Sinai says they are not starting interviews until late winter/early spring
