Why are right sided diverticula found in younger patients and why do most people have left sided Diverticula?

Why are right sided diverticula found in younger patients and why do most people have left sided Diverticula?

I don't know about the younger pts, but I always chalked up the left sided ones in older pts to the fact the contents of the large intestine are more solid on the left side. The right side is still liquid/thin mush. (yum)
