(disclaimer: I know that USNEWS is flawed. This post is only for entertainment purposes only. I know that the DMU Internal med guys will most likely stay IM and not go into cards or anything, but its still nice to see your school with the big guys. :D)

I wouldnt necesarrily compare DMU to those schools, but the overall message here is that if you go to DMU, they will not try to limit you to anything (ie. primary care) and their students actually do well enough that many of them do end up going to competitive speciality residencies. I saw, the 2007 matchlist which was quite impressive as well. Go DMU!

The important thing is that students at DMU aren't limited by any means.
But truly, you can't get accurate numbers from this, since there are tons of specialties in Internal Medicine that those grads from all the other schools you listed will be going into eventually....

The primary reason for this is because 4th year is basically 95% electives - You can do whatever rotations you want. Thus, you're able to get exposure to a number of fields outside of primary care. The amount of electives that we're allowed to do 4th year is one of the major positives of the school for me.
