Just remember that all of the upperclassmen have survived, so that means that there it is humanly possible; even though I heard Jonwill isn't human. I heard he is a podiatric robot sent back in time to cure one lucky bunion.

Sorry Onc,

I wont lie to you. First year is a beast. There were times when I sat in the library and tried to remember what my wife looked like. If I had known before hand what I was getting myself into I would have thought a little more about it. But I hear this from both DOs and DPMs here. The good news is that grads tend to say its worth it when its all said and done. But be prepared to work. Especially when there are nerds in class that eat and breathe school with no lives. I wont name any names....(JonWill). Welcome to DMU!

Hey Onc, it's a long road but well worth it. When you smash boards and look studly on all of your rotations, you will be thankful that you worked so hard. Keep in mind that I worked hard because I wanted to do well and be successful. IlizaRob is just trying to be like me!

Nerd! Hey, shouldnt you ne in clinic right now? I thought they banned computers becaused you slacker 07s were spending too much time on ebay in between patients. Looks like Smith is going to get a little visit from me today. I will also mention it to Yoho when I go over to his house for dinner tonight.

It's a GREENFIELD DAY today! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Aren't you in class right now? Maybe you should be listening?

Im not sure what a Greenfield day is. But you gotta love wirless technology. Browsing the net while in class sures makes life more fun. The problem arises when the professor walks up and down the isle and catches a sneak-peak at your computer. They dont say anything but they will ask you the next question. So, to get over that you have to have the notes or powerpoint up and just control-tab really quick as they walk by. Now its as if you were taking notes the whole time. Nerds usually dont know these secrets. You should try it sometime.

You will become well acquinted with Greenfield, Iowa my friend. It is about an hour west of Des Moines. We have clinic at the hospital there at least twice a month. We also do Pella, Iowa. It's taking the medicine to the people!

So you're all about the house calls huh? What do you think about this: "I dont treat sick people. I only treat healthy people."

JonWill,

How has PBL been this year? Tough? Would you trade it for systems courses like in the 2nd year?
PBL has been extremely helpful. No way would I trade it for systems courses. I have learned a ton. PBL is a good thing to do 2nd semester because it is really geared towards giving you the pertinent info that programs expect you to know out on your 4th year. I think it is one of the main reasons our students do so well in residency placement.
Your class isn't pushing for more systems courses, are you?

IlizaRob said:
Well, just OB/GYN. We figure it would help us in diagnosing and treating plantar fasciitis.

We were in Pella at the hospital yesterday. I happened to walk into the office while an OB/Gyn was dictating. It made me thankful I had chosen podiatry.

2nd years -

You in class today or are you guys extending your four day weekend into this week?

It was so hard to get up this morning.

Me too but mine was from a weekend full of studying neuro. Wait that is what I should have been doing but instead I watch the draft and watch the Broncos become the best team in the NFL

You must have been drinking too. If the Bronco's are the best team after the draft, then the world might be coming to an end. They got an unproven QB (who claims that he is the best QB in the draft) and a wanna be TO, in Javon Walker. The guy had one good year they want to give him a parade, don't forget that he starts more problems then he solves. Have fun watching them pull the KC Chiefs; from first to worst b/c they let their best D players go PLUS they've got an A rated schedule this year for getting into the conference finals.

Chicago Bears, 2007 Superbowl Champs. That's got a nice ring to it.

Chicago was rated a D in their draft. Maybe they will magically get and offense

I think that the only team that did worse than Denver is Chicago. They have no offense and a great D. So what do they do? They draft more defensive players. Plus they have the same problems as Denver, an A schedule. If you look at the last few years the Bears do good then bad and then good and then bad. That is b/c they go from the A schedule to the C schedule every other year. Sorry but this is one of those bad years.

The Broncos were graded out an A for the draft and THEY WILL make it to the playoffs. But then Jake the Snake will be his typical choke artest. Have you guys ever seen the movie "the replacements". I have a feeling that the QB on that film played by Keanu was portrayed after Jake Plummer

Sorry haffadoc, but 2007 is going to be the year that KC destroys everyone.

I count on the experts as much as I count on the US Senate.

They didn't draft any O because they don't need it. With Grossman back and healthy, they will move the ball just fine. They have depth in the backfield and at wide out. The only problem with the O last year was that they didn't have a QB that could run it (until Grossman got back)! PROBLEM SOLVED 😀

They need a TE really bad. I heard that they are looking at trading Thomas Jones.

jonwill said:
They signed two TE's today (Oregon and Auburn).

Nice. Any word on what they are going to do at RB? I think it is dumb to just give Cedric Benson the job when Jones has done so well the last two years.

Ya, I think Benson has potential but I believe that Jones is going to be the man. If Benson can take it away from him in pre-season, then so be it. It would be crazy to bench Jones after the season he had (not to mention Adrian Peterson). Any bets on whether Grossman gets hurt???

I thought this was a pod forum. Feelslippy, shouldnt you be studying your case study from Smith or something?

Whiskers and I have all of the answers to those case studies. Just PM me!

Hey Jon, when do you take off next month? I can't believe your class is actually going to be gone soon.

We finish up May 19th and I have to be at U of F in early June (5th I think).

I'm going to Jacksonville is that the one you are doing?

You'll have to let me know how it is - I go in september.

Any of you 08ers going to the official "we're better than the 09ers" picnic tonight? I think we will mostly be making fun of Jonwill. He should be there dressed up as a human pinata. I also heard that Dr. Feelgood was going to receive the "most likely to be mistaken as a women by your patients" award. We'll have to see. See you all there.

We've got our "We're outta here" picnic tonight. We will generally make fun of all of you because you are all still going to be here next year!

must not have been that important because none of us heard about it

That was a typo. I meant to say that it was a "We're better than the 07ers", not the 09ers. Sorry discuss, didnt mean to get you all heated up. Just leave it for the court tomorrow.
