Conversion has been spoken of and griped about nonstop last game. And I think it was also in Babies and RvB.

I actually think it was protection. I don’t think conversion bc it has been overused lately. And I think this was supposed to be fairly straightforward game.

What would be the downside of the protected person sharing that info with village.

Downside is it would narrow pool of players of who the protector could be to wolves.

A) It is common (not every game, but probably most) for protection to be unable to be on the same person successive nights, B) If we know who was protected on a (edit: no kill) night that’s good evidence for their villageness. Not 100%, but enough that it makes them a target for wolves. No need to bring it up unless they’re up for elimination or the protector claims and asks them to verify their claim.

yeah heres some of my semi-serious thoughts:
genny & dubz - not wild about about them hopping on the mel train after me, although this is my first game with him so idk there could be context to this I'm missing
Mel - his comment about Dubz' entrance right under mine just really felt weird to me, idk how to explain but just the fact that 30 minutes later he made the same comment about one of the first posts of the game when he had been on way more than me just feels weird
Bob - need to think about more, so far not really a fan, more below bc he brought up the C word
Cubs - sus for the fact that he said Apple fritters were the best when they arent even donuts

While I cant speak about the last game or Babies, but in RvB as a wolf, I'm pretty sure we would bring up conversions to mess with people and stuff before we actually converted someone. No one got killed last night and the first thing you think of in what is supposed to be a mostly basics game is that there was a conversion? I know you walk back that statement in this comment, but seriously bring it up isnt helpful, especially on D2.

ok just playing the devils advocate here but if the wolves did target someone last night and the target is still alive, they already know that person is most likely not the protector/jailer (if that was the role that prevented the kill). so the pool is already narrowed for the wolves. My biggest concern is giving too much info about the role itself that prevented the kill. lets keep the wolves guessing about so they're always looking over their shoulder for a jailer/protector.

Yes. I would like to know if that is why there was no NK.

I don’t need to know who protected someone bc duh. But I can’t see a downside of letting village know you were protected. But enlighten me if there is a reason. (Wolves would already know who was protected)

Okay. Maybe I am not getting why wolves would ever not know who they tried to NK. I will just wait until game over for further clarification in case it doesn’t need to be said now

I know it isn’t helpful for conversion discussion. AM hates conversion discussion. I was just trying to figure out why no NK out loud.

They could’ve just been idle but I don’t see how that helps this early.

Also, conversion would be silly this early bc it would lose impact early in a game.

I looked back at it and it reads like he is continuing the joke. This seems like a reach.
 
Another thought: if the no kill was for another reason and protection happened to land on a wolf they could use that angle. So it isn’t info that’s particularly helpful for village as it doesn’t really clear someone although it does give some evidence of villageyness, but that may be misleading, and wolves can use it to hunt both for the protector and for the previously protected player (good NK due to the village points AND being much less likely to be protected the next night)

I don’t agree with her reason for it but it’s content nonetheless). Mel at that point had 4 fluff posts, and then continued on the joke/could be seen as slightly serious comment on Dubz’s entrance that mkg did. Why was Mel not sus but mkg was?
