DRoP the WW sign ups and game thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
The three head bashings apparently make sense via behind the scenes chatter. All from one role, which was tithed and then boosted. If the tithed ability is used the next night by the person who receives it, then it was possible for the player with the ability to block one person, and then the receiver of the tithe to block two via the boost, hence the three blocks last night.

I am interested in finding out who the blocker is. It would presumably be someone who tithed the night before last. I know it's not someone from our hold because I tithed that night.

If they donated their power then they should not have been able to use it though

Not that night, but we were thinking that the ability is available for use the night after it is donated. Which makes sense considering the tithe decisions happen at night and the groups have until night close to decide.

Oh yeah I see. That makes a ton of sense actually

This--it sounds like the recipient of the tithed ability doesn't get to use it until the following night cycle, at which time it's also already back in the hands of the original tither. So normally we'd end up with a duplicate of the ability the night after the tithe, but with a booster involved, we ended up with three. It sounds like all the other injured are victims of thread, not the head-knock block.

Oops, missed Zoo's original post, she already explained. :ninja:

2 1/2 hours from deadline and not a lot of votes on the board. Going to end up with another last minute cluster**** if we're not careful.

I'm waiting to see if other groups are willing to discuss who tithed two nights ago so we can try to figure out who the blocker is.
We have two different kinds of blocking then, because SOV and dy did not receive injuries via their block, and this other multiplied block is called an injury.
Yeah I think that blocker is more likely village than the one we are talking about

That is an interesting play Hazelmoo.

I am planning to lynch someone from your Hold. Deva used the shutters and was trying to tithe = not wolfy behavior. Kata was injured. That leaves PBC, AM and you.

I was pretty sure about AM. I've been giving you a pass d/t starting late. I was going to go with

Lynch PrincessButterCup - though I am really sure that I hate that, because I like the player.

I'd love to hear what you suspect about me.

No one tithed from Ruatha 2 nights ago. We talked about it, but no one did it. RM was n1, I was n2, no one n3, Filly B n4

@vetmedhead , did you say you had any injuries?

No, I was not injured. I know Gwen and BBC were. Haven't heard from FFM about whether they were injured and STL still has his post restriction and can pretty much only communicate in our Hold PM via gifs, so no idea there either. I'm wonder if protection of a hold was distributed randomly amongst the players in that hold. Perhaps when the dragons/riders do not receive enough tithes from all of the players they can only choose to protect 2/3 of the players in a hold or something.

Do you have a reason?

I have nothing to go off of. My ability is not information-acquiring, and I haven't been able to PM with anyone privately about suspicions. I'm only voting for you based off of feels reading through your posts (which isn't much, especially after my SOV vote), but I really wanted to get a vote in before close as I'm running errands and busy today. More than willing to waffle if anyone has anything concrete!

N2 - Deva uses shutters for Tillek Hold. The same night, Kata is hit on the head and injured/blocked. Presumably this must have come from inside the hold due to the shutters.

N3 - The blocker tithes their ability, cannot use it that night, hence no one mentions being injured

N4 - The blocker and the tithe recipient both use the ability, 3 people are injured due to the tithe recipient also receiving a boost.

Tillek Hold
@PrincessButterCup
@katashark
@Devastating
@Animal Midwife
@hazelmoo

So who tithed N3?

I'm more suspicious of AM. She slid in here just under the wire to get a vote in on SOV. I voted for him based on flawed knowledge too so maybe that was nothing but it made my ears twitch

AM defended herself day 1 or 2 and at least at that time, I have her as likely village.

Do we want to know who the blocker is? Is blocking wolfy or villagey? Would identifying them make it easier for them to get offed?

There was no injury on N1, but that alone doesn't mean that a blocker tithed. They may just not have known yet where to deploy their action.

I agree it gave me some pause as well. This exchange from today also gave me little twinges of feels:
I'm injured too! The person(s) doing this must be pretty powerful.

thread or head bashing?

By the thread.

I don't know why, it just feels like a wolf jumping on a convenient excuse to join in with the villagers who were injured. Her first post that suggests it was a powerful person doing it just feel kinda fishy to me, as most of the other players injured by the thread seemed like it had been made clear to them that it was a game event of some sort and not necessarily a player's actions that had gotten them injured.

I want to know who this particular blocker is because I think the way their ability works is wolfy. There is another blocker who had a better chance of being a village I think.

It was mostly the "this person must be pretty powerful bit"

I missed that she said it was the thread. Why would she say she thinks it's a person if she got burned by the thread?

Blockers have been either in the past. In this game it seems like we have a villager blocker and possibly a wolf blocker based on the blocking descriptions we've seen so far in the game.

Because she doesn't know this book and just saw a bunch of peole saying they were injured. Most of these newer players haven't played in a game where a random event can be a bad guy.

I honestly would not speak up if I were the village blocker. Why out yourself for the wolves?

I don't know these books either. But you can bet your sweet cheeks that if I had made the first comment and someone said that the thread causes burns I'd be correcting myself that it wasn't a person

Part of it is learning how a person plays. AM seems to be one that checks in sporadically. I highly doubt she even checked after her statement then only clarified after I asked her to make the distinction without reading through the jabber first.

Thread shutters being slammed shut, and unfortunately the brutal death of a brave Weyrleader. N'ton had been a night owl obsessed with staring at the stars through a distance viewer. This made him a good protector, as he tried to watch over his fellow Pernese. Unfortunately, the one he should have protected last night was himself. He was found on top of the Star Stones at Fort Weyr, brutally strangled to death. Shortly following, his loyal dragon Lioth jumped between forever, and a mournful keen arose from the dragons as they cried out for the loss of one of their own.

Dead is MQ - N'ton, protector (Villager).

It is now Day 3.

This is why I got confused. Mod error 😛 That should have said day 2.

I feel like the write ups have been making it fairly clear that the thread falling is an event and tithing is meant to pay for protection when it happens. AIVAS has addressed what the thread is on thread several times as well.

I'm going to lynch PBC because clearly someone injured kata from within the hold on N2 and we haven't heard much from PBC. I am super swamped at work but I should make it back before lynch closes

:yeahright: Fine! I haven't played with her before. 😛
