TE isn't that new of a player and admittedly likes mechanics. Wolves getting extra kills if they can correctly identify some category a player falls in is a super super super common mechanic and something that's brought up frequently the second anybody asks about roles on thread. I'd honestly be more surprised if they'd never heard of it. I'm not reading them wolf after catching up on posts, but just pointing out that I don't think it's that off the wall to find it unusual that they largely didn't mention that possibility.

My question is what do you think DocE's strategy is here assuming he's wolfy? Causing chaos is fun and all but it's also obviously settling him into the lead rn

I don't like any of this. I don't know if it's been mentioned in the games TE has played but I don't understand why it would be sketchy for someone not to think of a mechanic that wolves would be much more aware of.
 
Also, I know somebody postulated earlier that Cray could be faking this post restriction, but I highly, highly doubt that just based on how frustrated she was about being silenced during the last game and how much she likes to post her thoughts. She talked a lot in wolf chat and was struggling to not like anything on thread when she was silenced during Bioshock. It appears that she can like/react to posts right now, but I don't think she would necessarily choose to fake this. That seems unnecessary, especially this early in the game. I feel like it is much more likely an ability or item causing this.

Agreed, and I think a better question is what affiliation the post restrictor might be and why they chose Cray.

Ms P had like 3 votes with me, SAR had like 9, and Doc E had like 7. Even with Genny, it wasn’t gonna happen. There was like 90 secs left. So I was faced with my vote really only counting on one of those 2, of which I preferred the unknown player to the player who I can never ever read.

How many games does somebody have to play to not be new anymore? 4 is plenty for me to not give noob passes anymore and I find this a weird thing for you to pick out of this post to nitpick

Again I just thought it was interesting that someone who explicitly mentions they like mechanics wouldn't bring up one of the most obvious applications of this. It's not some secret only wolves could come up with. And, as pointed out to me by TE herself, she DID mention it and I had missed it, so it doesn't matter anyway

I’m not good at reading Samac or MsP. Inexperience with both is a big contributor. Samac had me in Ggoats, hook line and sinker, even after she led my misyeet. Totally fooled.

But at least I’ve seen her wolf once, so I can at least maybe catch something if something is off. Unlike MsP who I’ve never seen wolf at all.

I liked seeing MsP’s increased participation in Bioshock, which was decidedly pro village (or didn’t like it because I was a wolf 😛). I haven’t see that participation in this game.

Neutral for MsP at the moment. Cautiously optimistic about Samac being village, but still paranoid about missing something.

I mean this as lovingly as possible, but I can see cray being a very tempting post restriction candidate based on her volume of posting overall. I'd love to see how post restrictions play out over the next day or two to see how the ability is being utilized across players

Editing to add: if the restriction is also always DW specific then I can also see why cray would be an initial target. Anyway

Still kinda matters to me because this whole thing feels like a weird stretch.

If wolves being able to kill particular types of players should be ~so obvious~ to someone never exposed to the mechanic before, then why has it ever been successfully used in a game?

Okay, that just seems unusually steep to me especially given she died N1 in one of them even within this current crop of players. I try to give people a 10 game grace period.

Samac is probably my strongest village read. Her tone is much more careful as a wolf and much more animated as a villager. In ggoats, I said early on that I didn't have any village points to give to her and that was really weirding me out, and then only fell for the village act later on because I thought for sure her interactions with AM could not be w/w. If not for the interactions, she would have stayed in my POE.

Agreed about MsP though, I don't have any good way to say "Ah, that's a wolf!" with her.

Cray seems to be herself, but I read her wrong last time so I'm pretty cautious of her, I also didn't like her flipping onto the DocE vote yesterday after saying that his posts pinged her. getting silenced in the middle of the day is also a bit odd.
People definitely bought their tinfoil in bulk before this game, and while TME and Vissy's ideas are interesting, I just cant decide if they are actually helpful at the moment with what little information we have

I see Cray as a very tempting post restriction from a wolfy perspective, and at the moment I can't think of a good reason someone would want to restrict Cray from a village perspective unless they were truly paranoid about her for whatever reason. But I'm not putting it out of the question because the village post restrictor in the last game made some very strange choices.

What do you mean by DW?

It’s mostly leans. I don’t have a good handle on a lot of people so far. I feel like there’s a large lack of meaningful content from the majority of players.

What’s your plethora of ears looking like?

From my experience (with KD as the mod), wolf chat was not affected, but the restriction did apply to PMs. So I'm not sure there's any way for us to know unless Cray tells us.

Yes! It was the people who thought she randomly got post restricted in the middle of the day PLUS I saw DubZ's comment (and didn't see what she was responding to) that made me think that. So I was a bit confused on why it was brought up. Regardless, I doubt it was faked because that just doesn't seem like something Cray would do, as I explained above.

Yeah I think it's hard to glean affiliation based on restriction choices. The post restrictor could have just chosen cray because of salt from last game.

DW = doctor who, cray is a well known fan of the show

I do agree that it is very difficult to play post restrictor in a village way although the ability has been assigned across multiple affiliations before. Someone non-wolfy targeting her I think would largely be doing it from the selfish end of wanting to maybe make it slightly faster to catch up on thread lol. Again, said as lovingly as possible

Can't think of good reasoning for silencing her this early out of the gate. But interpreting ability use is usually something that takes longer and it's not generally as useful to speculate on whether it's v/w based on one data point, and definitely less useful than actual player posts and play
