Hey All
So I have a little error on the AMCAS application. I was going through my already verified AMCAS application and noticed that for the Disadvantage question I checked Yes and for the essay box I simply left it as "Finish Later." That was my own personal note to come to it later. In no way do I consider myself at a disadvantage, but I am Asian American so I was just curious to see what the options were if you clicked yes. Yes, do to my irresponsibility, I forgot about it. I emailed AMCAS about it and of course in their great wisdom said that I can't change that part once it is submitted. I then replied back to them saying that i know it was an error on my part but I do not want to give a false impression. They kindly wrote back that I could just update the individual schools myself. That sounds peachy, but I just wanted to see if anyone else had a mishap like this on the application, and if so, is it a big deal. Am I screwed for this cycle?

I think this may be similar...I wrote an article for a journal all by myself. It's to be published next month so I cited myself, the article name, journal, month and year. I just found out (AFTER I submitted), that the journal decided to include the editor in the byline so it looks like i'm trying to take full credit for something I didn't do on the AMCAS. I emailed all the schools immediately and explained the situation honestly. Just let them know that through some error, this occurred and you apologize for any inconvenience. Sooner is better than later.

Thanks Chrissy! I went ahead and emailed all the schools.
