I'm a foreign vet graduated 5 years ago. I want to take the ECFVG and registered for it. I'm planning to take BCSE but does not know how to study for it. Please give me some advice. I'm getting stressed out a little as I have forgotten almost everything and do not know if I can make it.What materials should i follow?

hey guys

I am looking for a job to sponsor me for my H1B Visa, but most of them require a state license before applying for a job. The problem is I cant apply for the state board yet because I dont have my social security number.
I am currently on a B1/B2 visa, so I cant work in the US and thus cant apply for a SSN,In a nut-shell its a chicken and egg problem.😱😕:
It would be very helpful if you could shed light on this issue, and how to stee through it.

Hope you are doing well in your prep for BCSC. It is hard to say how to prepare for that exam because every body has different veterinary back ground as well as aptitude. But, I can tell you what material I used. The books I used are as under:
Anatomy of Domestic Animals by pasquini
Clinical TextBook for Veterinary Technicians by Mccurnin/Bassert
Radiology by Thrall
Small animal Surgery by Theresa Welch Fossum
Veterinary Parasitology (Reference Manual) Fifth edition by William J Foreyt
Textbook of Veterinary physiology by Cunningham Klein
Couple of chapters from Merk's manual (blood, digestive, resp, Endo, Metabolic Dzs)
Zukureview for BCSC

Now Obviously you can not read all books so just focus on main things and do not go too deep. I hope this helps.

i am a veterinarian. I am so confused to start with, and look at that I could not make my self prepared to evaluate my credential yet. I do not know how can I start the process. When I see some one post as he/she cleared NAVELE, or BCSC,, i say wow.
Please help me out with ,,,,,, starting up:😕😕😕😕😕

I took CPE in march, made some really goof friends. It was the most stressful 3 days of my life. Only when they kick you out of a section you know you fail. Otherwise there is no way to tell how things are going till you get the results. Getting prepare for the stress is as important as studying.
I pass most of the CPE. I am appealing anesthesia, because I think I did a good job and they failed me. The report I got made no sense to me.
I studied from pasquini books for horses, practice surgery abroad and small animals in the clinic I work as a tech. I use yutube and some of the links from futurevows website (some links dont work) for procedures in large animals. I am a visual learner, that is why I didn't need to practice large animal procedures.
I took the NAVLE in April. I used vetperp and the 200 questions for 50 bucks in the navle website to get ready. This is the second time I take it. I used zuku the first time.
Now I am looking for a place where to do 1000 hours before I can get my full license in Utah.

Did you ever had a chance to appeal? At which center you took anesthesia? I am thinking to appeal to. Not sure what the success rate it.

Hi, you passed BCSC in 1st attempt? That's awesome...congratulations on that. I wish you all the best in the NAVLE, and CPE...Please may I know how you studied for this exam, as in, your study materials you used (all of them), your study plan-how many hours you read a day, and whatever you think might be of help to me. I am planning to take these exams in 2013, and I plan to pass them at 1st sittings, so I thought to contact those who passed at 1st sitting. Hi, check the Education Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduate web site; google it. Click on BCSE ie step 3 and read about it there. It'll show you how to navigate to test centers for the exams; there u can check for a center closest to you.

Ok guys long story short I applied for a visiting clerkship in OHIO STATE, so I'm doing some rotations specially in the sections that I need for CPE. Believe me it's not easy at all and now I understand why we have to repeat 2 sections of the CPE or in many cases repeat the whole thing and pay 5000 more.......They're way ahead of us and they're really strict in every single thing....... I started on january 7th and i'll be done by june 7th, I paid 8800 and believe me it's worth every penny, so please go to an university and explain what you need and at least do the rotations that are going to help you pass the CPE, each rotation is 2 weeks no matter where you go and the reason why I'm staying longer is because I want to be expert in other areas of small animal practice plus I'm doing this so I can tell my next boss that I've been in an American institution rather than telling him that I just got my license from ecfvg....I'm doing NAVLE on April and for sure this is going to help me a lot with that test and with the CPE as well..... again my phone number is 8018605754 I'm in eastern time call me after 7 or send me an e-mail [email protected] ......I don't check this forum very often so please call me or text me if you want to contact me.:naughty:

I am getting ready for the CPE in Las Vegas this June. Has anyone heard of this veterinarian in North Carolina who offers a CPE prep program?
