I'm not business minded-enough for PP. I also like being paid regardless of patients showing or not.
That’s why I charge all patients for no-shows or late cancellations. Surprising how less frequently this occurs when people know they have to pay regardless.

Another 12-patient Friday here. At home now on the couch enjoying some Woodford Reserve Double Oaked watching Couples Therapy on Showtime.

About to head home for the long weekend. Dinner with the wife tonight. Fall festival on Sunday, woohoo!

Just got back from the annual backpacking trip to VT with my wife. Exciting changes at the cabin- they built a new outhouse! This is literally the view from the “seat” through the opened top half of the outhouse door. The beautiful golden hues, the aromas of maple and oak, and that’s just from the Woodford’s Reserve in that bottle there! The trees were pretty too!

Going to see “The Office: A Musical Parody” tonight.

wrapped up EPPP and now on to what matters- planning for my whiskey party. any recommendations from the sages of SDN on cocktails to plan for?

horsefeather, whiskey smash, old fashion.

what else?

Manhattan
Sarazac
Vieux Carre (you'll likely need to buy an ingredient or two to make)

Depending on the weather, a Bourbon Slush can be fun.

I took the day off. I pre-ordered a Pixel 4, ran some errands, and will be meeting up with friends later for drinks, music, etc. I will probably continue to relax for the afternoon, play some piano, hit some golf balls, and maybe nap.

Who are you, Elvis in his final days?

Naps seems to have eluded Elvis. Not a good career move for the king.

I had all but one patient cancel (what IS it with Fridays, man?) so I'm just waiting the clock out. Then I'm hitting happy hour with colleagues.

Damn, got the sniffles. Walking around with a faucet that won’t stop leaking out my nose. Looks like it’s all Netflix and bed for me.

Homecoming at my alma mater (same school for graduate and undergraduate, and only a few miles down the road). Open house today the psych labs and training clinic. Going to go with my son (and count it as a college visit) and tour the department, and then head over to watch the #3 ranked hockey team face off against what I hope is a woefully under-matched opponent. We'll be skipping watching the #129 ranked (out of 130 FBS teams) football team face off agains what will most certainly be a grossly over-matched opponent.

Traveling for some consulting work. Working from the hotel room for a while. Phone conference this AM. Two business meetings this afternoon. One fun Saturday business meeting. Seeing some friends here Saturday night. Fly home Sunday, then got a date that night.

Paperwork and a light day, trying to clear stuff off my plate as internship application review time is around the corner. Mexican food and margaritas tomorrow for date night with the wife. Trying to think of another activity to add to date night. Any thoughts?

Yesterday and today we're on "mid-semester break" - this is the only college I've been where this is a thing. Not complaining. After a few intense weeks I'm enjoying not doing much today. Home with the kiddos, play-doh, naps, park, ...pumpkin carving tomorrow.
Is it too early to begin counting down to winter break?

Pumpkin carving and dipping into the Halloween candy early this weekend

Seven patients today, three new. Off to enjoy the woods tomorrow. Kid sports and party/social planning Sunday.

...but tonight, wine and movie night. Happy weekending!

Axe throwing if you have it by you. Good way to get out frustration. Just don’t aim it towards your wife

Anyone else knee deep in internship applications this weekend?

I don’t really have a weekend. I have one full day off during the week and some half days off throughout. Tonight, I’ll likely play around with the Vive Cosmos, watch a movie in the home theater, and/or listen to some music.

Got slammed with legal work. Working all day. Long run this afternoon, theater in the evening.

sunday: more work.

Grading papers this afternoon and finishing up letters of recommendation for eager undergrads applying to phd programs...and definitely counting down the semester -- 3 weeks to go and only 7 more class meetings!

Also have a rare Friday night to myself (abuelita in town to watch the kids, wife working this evening), thinking of seeing Joker. thoughts? Tomorrow wife and I will spend the day together in San Francisco, sans kiddos. So nice to have grandma nearby.

Have fun! Been meaning to see Joker and I think Ford vs Ferrari is coming out. The wife suggested I might want to go see that this weekend (and I nearly fell over....best wife ever). Was teaching the interns this morning, a couple of conferences and now wrapping up paper work before heading home. Is it quiet over here because NAN is going on?

On the agenda for the weekend: two holiday parties, decorating, a little shopping, and fending off a sinus infection.

Have a great weekend, folks!
