Hey everybody, apologize in advance if this topic has been discussed in detail, but I'm wondering if anybody has some informed thoughts on where GI is heading. In particular, two things... First, how specialized are GI's getting? I know there are people just doing IBD, or advanced endoscopy, as examples- is this moreso in academia than in private practice? Do PP docs maintain a diversity of diseases that they see? And second, the hot topic- virtual colonoscopy- lets say that the quality gets much better and the savings is significant- how hard does this hit GI's?
