My grades (3.8) are good, particularly in upper division science courses (4.0) BUT I don't have time to take genetics at my university, especially because they don't offer it in the summer.
Is it bad to take genetics at a CC? For all med schools, including top-tiers. If it's looked down upon, I'll find a way to take it at my school 🙁.

A lot of schools, including Boston University, do not accept any credit from community colleges. I know it is not generally looked down upon to take a course during the summer as long as you are taking it at a four-year university (I am in your same shoes and asked the director of admissions at USC Keck.) Try finding one in your hometown and you should be fine. Good luck!

Wow! I'm so glad I asked...thank you 🙂

Do CC's even have upper level courses? I didn't think they did.

They do. Ours offered upper-division level OChem and Physics. They also offered a 1-semester nursing lower-div ochem and the standard (non engineering) lower division Physics

Chances are high that if the community college has a genetics class, then their science program will be strong.

i want to take that back. i was confused.

i guess i was thinking about certificate programs, etc.

No, you're quite right. There are community colleges that offer bachelor's degrees.

I see that it's an association, but I don't see anywhere that it says which CC's offer Bachelor's Degrees. I've never heard of that.

We have a former CC in my area that is now a four-year college. Is that what you're thinking of?
