Does PharmCas calculate gpa from undergraduate degree plus prerequisite or prerequisites only ?

Thank you

Surely the PharmCAS website can answer this question for you... While SDN is a good resource, I suggest you do a bit of research first. You are going to need to be resourceful if you are going to succeed in this process.

Advise well taken.

I pretty much can say that my previous academic is not so great. Not that I've failed multiple classes but a few. Right after high school I wasn't mentally prepare for college until now that I realized what I wanted to do. In that case, should I retake Introduction to chemistry that I failed back in 2001. Since, I have taken General Chem passing with superb grade. A & B.

I also don't want to spend next three years repairing my damage GPA since I'm 27 years old.

Thank you.

Age ain't nothing, but a number... Your GPA ain't nothing, but a number.
There are a couple of schools that have low GPA requirements so do your research. Just as Pharm B said, there are also schools out there that aren't a part of PharmCAS. Additionally, you can always press your luck and try to attend a new pharm school that is not accredited yet.

If your GPA isn't where you want it to be, then there's nothing wrong with taking 1 class a quarter and studying for your PCATs while you're living life. Just make sure to get a high PCAT score to offset your GPA.

There are youngin's that go to Pharmacy school at 22, while there are older folks too. Your age isn't a determinate for where you want to be in life, unless it's drinking or driving.. I recommend not doing both at once.

I was in your shoes three years ago. I'm now 30 and will be starting pharmacy school in the Fall. I received a degree my first time through school, but after working as a tech for a year I decided to head back to school. I will have over 4 years experience when I finally start pharm school. I didn't take any many science classes my first time through college, so I ended up taking gen chem 1 and 2, ochem 1 and 2, bio chem 1, intro bio, genetics, microbiology, cell biology, anatomy/phys, calc, and stats with A's or B's. If you can prove you are a changed student, and of course a great pcat score, you will get in.
