Hey have you heard anything from FAMU since you applied?

I applied to FAMU back at the beginning of November and haven't heard a word since.
Yea I think I applied early December. All I ever received was an email saying they needed my transcript then another email saying that email was a mistake.

It’s strange. I know that their application cycle closed on 1/15. We should hear something soon I hope.

Update:

I found out I got rejected from PCOM-Georgia campus a week after my interview. I know rejections happen, but not like this. I thought I did well in my interview and felt like they liked me. I emailed the chair and the admissions office to see what I need to improve on for the next cycle, but this hurts so bad.

I know any rejection is tough. I had an interview with AdventHealth University last Friday and thought it was my best interview to date. I got a rejection letter two days ago on Wednesday and was completely shocked. Keep your chin up and I am sure everything will work out.

To those with lower undergrad GPA’s, don’t lose hope. It’s possible to receive acceptances if you put in the extra work to bolster other parts of your application (pre-reqs, observation settings, decent GRE scores, relatable extracurriculars, stellar LOR’s, essays), and kill your interviews. When initially looking at PT programs, I was hoping for just a single acceptance. With hours of deliberate planning, focused effort, and some luck, I ended up with multiple admission offers, one of which was from my top choice!

Hey! I was wondering if I can get some insight into my stats for this year's cycle.

University: University of North Texas
Major: Kinesiology
Overall GPA: 3.87
Pre-Req GPA: 3.8
GRE: 143 V 153 Q 3 AW

Extra-Curric: Honor society, pre-pt club

Volunteer: Research participant, serve team member for church, events such as the big event and make a difference

Hours: Over 2300 hrs as an outpatient pt tech. 41 hours in an inpatient rehab hospital.

I'm retaking the GRE soon.

Good luck to everyone!

The whole COVID thing kinda put things on pause for me but I'm hoping to receive an acceptance from the University of St Augustine in the St Augustine campus. I'm really excited to head out at 21 years old because I didn't want to take a year off but here's my stats so far:
University: Georgian Court University
Major: Exercise Science
Minor: Holistic Health
Overall GPA: 3.5
Pre-Req GPA: 3.3
GRE: 303

Extra-Curric: Honestly I had a lot of extra curriculars but if I'm gonna be honest these are really peripheral things that grad schools look at so don't be too concerned with doing as many as possible. Focus on your pre reqs. You can have A's in all your classes but if your pre reqs aren't above AT LEAST C+ you're gonna have to retake those pre reqs

Rejections: Lol I had a lot so I'm not gonna go into detail. . .

Interviews: I applied to 18 schools and got 6 interviews total then the other 30% was waitlists and the rest were rejections :(((( Off the top of my head though, I got waitlisted at Scranton, Long Island U, Rosalind Franklin, New England, Sacred Heart... my GRE really set me back ://

Acceptances: Gannon University, Marist College, and a few conditional acceptances if I retook the GRE, retook classes, etc but I only listed my official acceptances

It's definitely a nerve-wracking process to go through but really make sure pre reqs are up there. I really wanted to set myself apart by doing well in my pre reqs and although some aren't great, some get a lot of commendable remarks. I kept getting conditional acceptances like "As long as you maintain..." or "As long as you retake..." so it sucked that I didn't get official acceptances like everyone else here.

I'm hoping to hear back from St Augustine because they wanted me to take med term and human growth and development so after I graduated my undergrad, I immediately enrolled in those courses along with retaking physics 1. I got an A in all of them so that was cool but my pre reqs are:
Bio 1: B
Bio 2: B+
Chem 1: B+
Chem 2: B
Physics 1: A
Physics 2: A-
Stats: B (does anyone else suck at stats lol?? This class should've been easy but I'm ridiculously bad at math even though it's not really math lol)
Psych: B- (My teacher sucked)
Psychopathology (200 or 300 level psych course I forgot): A
Human Growth and Development (Requirement for St Augustine): A
College Algebra: A-
Pre Calc: A-
Calc: B (I don't think calc is required for pt schools anymore so you have to find out for whatever school you're applying to if they require it)

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE APPLYING!!! If you have any other questions follow me on IG @ogxpinto and DM me I'll help you out!

Hi! Just wondering, I'm looking at the post-bacc program for HPU and I wanted to know if you liked their courses or not. PS I live on Oahu, so it's like the only option in terms of a pre-med post-bacc. Also what campus do they teach from for bio/chem classes? Can you choose between campuses? Thank you!!!

I feel nervous I am relying to heavily on my PTA experience to lift a heavy boat. I don't think my stats are bad, but I still think it would take more than being a PTA to move past more competive applicants in these small seat-capacity schools.
Montclair State University
Major: Exercise Science 2014
GPA: 3.4
Pre-Req: 3.7 (3.4 for "averaged between retake" schools)

GRE: V151, Q149, AW4.0

ECs: Licensed PTA for 4 years including participation in company mentorship program and attended multiple company skills labs. Shadowed and volunteered in inpatient and cardiac rehab. Worked and interned as a rehab tech

Shadow Hours: 5000+

Applying to:
Hunter College and College of Staten Island

Your stats are pretty good! Very similar to mine actually and I was accepted to a decent amount of schools. I don't think you should be scared. Your stats really are more than competitive!
