Where are you located and why did you choose these particular schools? Have you looked at the DPT web sites of the schools you applied.? Most will list the average accepted GPA for accepted students. USF is very competitive some schools won't even consider applications that are less than 3.0 It is good you are applying early, raising your GPA and doing research

Wow, congrats on your interview for Mayo! It seems so early for interview offers. When is your interview?

Thanks Okramango! Mayo is one of the few schools with rolling admissions, which is why the invitation came so early. I also e-submitted in early August. I'll be interviewing in Rochester, MN on Sept. 28th!

How did you apply to multiple schools when one was Early Decision? I am under the impression that if you do Early Decision, you may only apply to one school until you're given a decision.

The "one school only" rule is only for schools that use PTCAS. Texas schools don't use PTCAS, so you can apply to more than one school for Early Acceptance there.

I applied Early Decision to TWU only, but since the "only one school" doesn't apply to any of the Texas schools, I decided to submit my applications early. UTMB does NOT really have an early decision policy, but they do have something called "Early Acceptance" for exceptional candidates. That means those that qualify do NOT need an interview and get automatic acceptance.

Gotcha. Congrats!

From an academic standpoint I'm a little worried about my chances due to my low GPA and GRE but from a non-academic standpoint I feel like I've put together a solid application. I know I got really good references and worked really hard to write some great essays, some of the best I've ever written. What do you think my chances are? I did not apply early decision but I got my applications in super early cause I heard it can help your chances a lot.

Thanks! I know they have a list of early acceptances, but I am unsure as to how many they have sent out and how many have actually already accepted. It's quite early in the game, so hopefully you'd be able to make it in! Good luck!

UPDATE: Got my acceptance call from TWU today! 😀

Congratulations!!!!! That's exciting! 🙂 Man, I really hope I hear something from them.

Quick questions: Were you also able to check the status of your application on their WebAdvisor? Also, when did you get the email from Mrs. Daugherty about your file being complete? I got my email letting me know that the file was complete on the 4th of September, but I had everything sent in by late July.

I really hope I have a good chance at TWU.

Has anyone gotten into USC? If so, congratulations. Do you mind sharing your stats? I applied early decision. I did not get a seat, but was placed into regular admissions. I'm wondering if this is a form of rejection or if I actually still have a chance. :luck: What do you think it means when someone is placed in regular admissions?

I'm an international student from Europe, currently getting my bachelor's degree in Athletic Training here at Ohio State University. I have years of hands-on experience from Athletic Training, but I only have a 3.3 GPA which I know is not competitive, and my GRE scores are just average.

Impressive extras & GRE! Must be nice to have a decision so early. Prestigious school.

I'd also like to know about the Duke interview process. Congrats!

Congrats on Duke!! How was their interview process?

Thanks! Super excited about it!

The interview process was very chill. One-on-one with a faculty member for 30 minutes. My interviewer just asked me if I had any questions about the program, and we just conversed for the whole time (Me: 30% of the time, Him: 70% of the time) It is an all day affair, (8:30-3:30) with the interview at the end. The day may be different for the regular applicants, but for early decision, my impression was that if I received an interview, they just wanted to make sure I was good fit for the program (sociable, professional, etc.). In fact, I felt that the whole day prior to the actual interview, was my "real" interview because they could observe how I interacted with other students and faculty members. The interview seemed to be more of a formality than anything else. That being said, early decision is different because they know that if accepted, we want/will attend the program. I read that in past years they have interviewed ~30%, and accepted ~10% of the total applicants. So it seems that for regular decision, ~1 in 3 interviewees will get an acceptance.

Hope that helps. Good luck with the application/interview process!
