For anyone accepted to FIU, how did you notify them of your decision? The e-mail address is a do not reply so I'm not sure how to go about that. Thank you!
I emailed Dr. Rossi directly. For anyone accepted to FIU, how did you notify them of your decision? The e-mail address is a do not reply so I'm not sure how to go about that. Thank you!
UPDATE!
I applied to all 7 schools for the 2015-2016 application cycle. Starting working as an aide in an outpatient ortho clinic and retook a biology class in the fall to turn a C+ into an A. Was rejected at Azusa Pacific (in October) and Loma Linda (last week).
Just received email today that I am offered a spot on CSULB's waitlist. Still waiting to hear back from other 4, but have accepted spot on waitlist. Will post a formal update with updated GPA/GRE/other stats soon.
Yeah I understand that. Also I recently just sent my deposit in for MGH! 🙂Thankfully I have committed to MGH, but I'd still like a solid answer from Temple one way or the other.

So I learned quite a bit about UPS at the tour and reception last Thursday. The campus is absolutely tiny (you can walk from one end to the other in less than 5 mins), but very nice with beautiful brick buildings and trees. The PT building is fairly new and very nice, with an on site clinic that the students work in as part of their curriculum, which I thought was good hands-on experience. The faculty seemed very well liked, especially the Anat/Phys teacher. The only thing I learned that I didn't like was that the students don't get to dissect the cadavers as part of the normal curriculum. Because they're a small campus they only have 3 each year, and a small hand picked group of second years are chosen to dissect them. The first years just look at the dissected cadavers. The students made it sound like it wasn't a big deal though.Gotcha! If I had the money I would haha. I live in southern California and although I would love to go check out the campus and meet everyone, I got to save some money. I'm not too familiar with Washington or the Tacoma area so i'm going to have to do some research and start looking for a place to live as August nears. I like what I've read about UPS's program though and the area/school look beautiful from the pictures I've seen haha.

I found out today that I got into UW, and I think if the campuses were next door and cost the same amount, I would choose UPS. However the difference in tuition and my SO's job in Seattle is making me choose UW. I think UPS is a very good program overall though.
As for housing, the students said that generally it's a good idea to avoid southern Tacoma (although the cheap housing may be tempting), and generally stick to the North End or University District.

Ok thanks!I was rejected from Temple in December 2014, applying for the class that started in 2015, so maybe it's a good sign you haven't heard anything yet? Best of luck!!

Thomas Jefferson!Which program are you planning to attend?
I'm 90% sure that you can't. Sucks.Does anyone know if you can get instate tuition in Florida after the first year?
Yeah I just found out from a student. It does!I'm 90% sure that you can't. Sucks.
I wonder why there's a group of people who have already heard from UF. I even sent my application in over the summer and still didn't hear either way.Attention everyone waiting to hear back from UF:
I emailed them regarding the status of my application and they said they will send out all decisions by the end of March, hopefully sooner.
Attention everyone waiting to hear back from FIU:
I emailed them regarding the status of my application and they said that Dr. Rossi will notify all applicants (that have been interviewed) of their status this Friday. If you don’t received any email this Friday, she said to email him directly.
Fingers crossed!!
I feel like UF either straight up declined some applicants or they got accepted and a seat. I think UF probably made a massive wait list and are still waiting for final decisions to be made so they are playing it safe. What does everyone else think?I wonder why there's a group of people who have already heard from UF. I even sent my application in over the summer and still didn't hear either way.
have you heard back from stony brook yet?
So I've always looked over this thread to see the different stats and which schools everyone has heard from so far and have finally decided to post my stats:
University: Truman State University

Waitlists for Interviews: UNMC, Regis University (they said they've had over 1,400 applicants this cycle), Elon University
Waitlists for Programs: Rockhurst

--Bummed about Rockhurst but they weren't my first choice, getting ready for my interview at Mercer, but curious if anyone has heard from DMU or University of Iowa? All I've heard from them is when they first received my application and nothing since. Also, haven't had any outright rejections from anyone which is positive, but tired of seeing the word "waitlist" in all my emails. Also AT Still said I probably won't be hearing from them until the new year, but that all the interview spots are currently filled --

I just heard today that I was accepted to CSULB off of the waitlist, and now I'm torn! I was planning to attend Fresno State, and I don't know much about CSULB's program (I didn't go to the open house). Fresno is closer to home and cheaper (especially in regards to living expenses), but I'm wondering if CSULB is looked upon more favorably with employers. Does anyone have any insights?
Congrats for the acceptance!!
CSULB is far superior to Fresno. Look at their first time passing rate for the board exam; Fresno's passing rate is 75%, while CSULB is 100%.
CSULB is the better choice for the long run.
As far as I can tell, they've been accepting small waves of people every couple weeks since December. I think they're slowly going down their waiting list as people decline their offer, and by the end of March they will let us know if we've been waitlisted or declined.I feel like UF either straight up declined some applicants or they got accepted and a seat. I think UF probably made a massive wait list and are still waiting for final decisions to be made so they are playing it safe. What does everyone else think?
Did you get your Masters online or in a traditional classroom and at which school?UPDATE: ACCEPTANCE!!!!!!!!!!!
I GOT IN TO UPS!!! 4 years of applying...such an emotional roller coaster. My master's degree payed off. I cannot believe it.
Did you get your Masters online or in a traditional classroom and at which school?
Actually, Fresno's overall passing rate is 94%, it's their first time passing rate that is 75%. And at the interview, the department chair explained to us that that 75% represents the scores from the last few classes of their MPT program. The curriculum for the MPT, while similar in regards to the current core curriculum, did not have a significant amount of instruction in regards to differential diagnosis and other aspects that are found in DPT programs. However, the NPTE was testing on these topics, which is why the first time passing rate was low and brought a sense of urgency to convert Fresno's MPT program to a DPT program (it was one of the last schools in the state to not change to a DPT). Now, with their first DPT graduating class only a year ago, the class of 2015's first time passing rate was somewhere around 86% if I remember correctly. While this number is still somewhat low in comparison to other schools that have had a longer DPT program, for a new program that's a pretty good number. They've learned a great deal since then (as the Class of 2015 first started in 2012).
Update!!
Waitlists: Mercer University, Rockburst University
ACCEPTANCE!!!-- University of Nebraska Medical Center (at Omaha Campus)
I am so so excited and honestly cannot believe that I got into this program. From being on a waitlist just to interview there, having a last minute phone call just two days before the interview telling me a spot opened for an interview, to a waitlist for the program and finally getting into the program, I am shocked at how this has all turned out. For those on waitlists, don't be discouraged. I honestly had thought that there was no way I was getting in this cycle, and yet here I am making plans and looking to a future in this amazing field. Stay positive, the hard work does truly pay off in the end!!
I do not think you can. But this may not be true for all schools. I went to the DPT open house at UF and someone asked that question. The financial adviser said "no, you are either in-state all three years or out of state all three years".Does anyone know if you can get instate tuition in Florida after the first year?
I haven't heard a word from UF and I submitted my application pretty early on. Not sure what the date was specifically, but I was thinking the same as you.I feel like UF either straight up declined some applicants or they got accepted and a seat. I think UF probably made a massive wait list and are still waiting for final decisions to be made so they are playing it safe. What does everyone else think?
I think it may be with all Florida schools. I spoke with admissions at USF and they told me the same thing. It's pretty unfortunate.I do not think you can. But this may not be true for all schools. I went to the DPT open house at UF and someone asked that question. The financial adviser said "no, you are either in-state all three years or out of state all three years".
Yes you can as long as you follow the procedures to do so. I think you need to register your vehicle in FL and get aFL license plate, and do some other stuff with mailing address and claiming yourself as independent I'm pretty sure. I would ask whatever school your planning to attend there and they can give you more information. You definitely can though, you just have to follow some steps. Just make sure you do it asap because exactly 12 months after you complete the steps, you'll be considered a FL resident.Does anyone know if you can get instate tuition in Florida after the first year?
That's what someone had asked at UF's open house and because it is an advanced degree (or whatever the reason was I'm not 100%) they said that does not work. Typically yes, those would be the steps to follow though.Yes you can as long as you follow the procedures to do so.
