Grades after an acceptance

i think you just need passing grades...about dropping your major, I'm not sure if your acceptance is contigent with keeping your majors (since you most likely stated it on AMCAS).

Passing grades will suffice, but why bring down your GPA? Ive caught a pretty bad case of senioritis but I am still doing just enough to keep my A's in the classes. The only difference between now and before? Im not gonna get worried about the occassional B anymore.
Yeah I'm with you....One of the many good things about knowing this early, I don't have to stress too much over P-chem. I'm happy I left that until my senior year. All I need to do is the pass the next two tests in that class (i hear that if we manage to pass his exams we are guaranteed an A--one down, two to go) Only eight more weeks of P-chem and I will be free!!!
Is only having to receive passing grades after an acceptance a common theme for every medical school or are some more strict?
Pretty sure I've heard this become a problem in some situations. I thought a poster on here a while back had an acceptance yanked because they failed to complete the coursework/majors listed on their application. If you do get an acceptance and are unsure if you will be able to complete one of your majors, definitely call the school and ask for their policies first.
Most schools just require that you get passing grades (so Cs). I definitely got a C my last semester after I was accepted and it was no big deal - I passed so I was fine. I think they know that most people loosen up a bit grade wise but it's up to you and what you want your GPA to be. I chose to enjoy myself a bit before med school and believe me, I'm glad I did! First quarter of med school is busy, B-U-S-Y..BUSY! Good luck to you all! 
Agree with this. MANY schools require you to get a C or better in all outstanding coursework. So passing grades won't be good enough if passing is a D.

I have received acceptances already and yet i am studying for a test that i have tomarrow. I have already studyied for 6 hours and plan to study for at least 8 more striaght then some more in the morning. And this tes/quiz is only on three chapters but i cannot accept just a "b" even when it doesnt really matter. Point being, does this mean I am a "gunner"?
My acceptance letter had as a condition of acceptance to maintain current academic standards... with a "C requiring a letter of explaination" and a "D or lower results in a second review of your file"

I don't think it would.
I personally would probably run this by them first before doing it. But I doubt it would have an impact if it isn't a "Withdraw/failing" or something of that ilk.
I wouldn't get anything less than a B- in any class you are taking. Otherwise, what are you saying about yourself? That you are not committed to being the best educated physician you could be? That you just want to "get by"?
But your supposed to be a professional, which exudes "honesty".
LIKELY not, however keep in mind that schools generally state in your acceptance letter that they expect you to continue to perform at a high level academically.
As an example, my AMCAS GPA was a 4.0, but my last two semesters were a 3.7 and a 3.5. Nothing bad happened. I think the general view is that As and Bs are enough to escape any problems.

Nope. 😳 Got magna, but in order to get summa I would've had to get a 4.0 in my final semester. I just couldn't bring myself to care that much.
as eluded to above, med schools have different policies about post-acceptance grades. sometimes the policy is stated in your acceptance letter, sometimes you would have to ask. in general, med schools don't want your grades/achievement to significantly change following acceptance (they accepted a xxx major with a 3.8, they expect that's what they're going to get).
i would inquire with your med school what their policy is about changing majors post-acceptance before going through with it. with regard to grades, you may or may not be called out for C's, and would likely be in some form of "trouble" for D or lower, whether it be a a frowny-face type email or reconsidering your acceptance. hope this helps!
