Honestly, I think you've done everything you can. They even gave you a Zoom meeting to advise you on a reapplication, which is probably more than most applicants would get. I have no doubt that conversations between the schools' admissions directors have been documented. I'm sure you have signaled your acceptance to the medical school admissions team.
You cannot count on getting pulled off the waitlist. Cross our fingers, and hopefully it works out.
On the positive side, 2.5 hours is inconvenient but not horribly far. Do well in your studies; elective rotations could be arranged closer to where her dental school is located, so that's your incentive two years from now.
