High Point University Workman School of Dental Medicine Class of 2029 Interview/Acceptance Thread

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a possible interview? I’ve taken my Casper 3 weeks ago and checking my email lol also, I applied last month but my portal says “under review”
The time from under review to decision pending/interview invite has varied from person to person and application to application. I've seen some people get interviews within a few weeks of applying (2-4 weeks), others receive interviews after a few months, and some are still at under review after weeks/months without any movement. At this point I think it is dependent upon their current application load/the efficiency in which they are reviewing applications/quality of application.

Hi guys, does anyone know when the next interview date is? Is there any in November or probably we should wait till December?
Thank you🙂

Just got a decision letter email from HPU checked and they stated they are unable to offer me admission for Fall2025. Pretty bummed because I didnt even get an interview. I havent gotten any interviews this cycle, and I just want to give up. Its taking everything in me to not break down. This is so devasting. I didnt even get a chance to interview, but oh well what's meant to be is meant to be.

Don't give up! I get it, rejection literally SUCKS! but it is not over. Feel your emotions. give it a day, and then get back after it! You got this! I speak from experience. Don't give up on yourself, you have WAY to much to offer!

Many of applicants received rejection letters today without having interviews.

Oh trust me I know the feeling 🙁 this is my second cycle so I’ve been there. Even with the interviews this cycle I have some pretty low hopes lol. Take some time to mourn and get yourself back up again and try even harder next cycle! You got this

I was rejected without an interview on 11/8 as well. Applied on 5/1, casper was taken a week after. Kinda bummed since I applied much later last year and got an interview almost immediately after casper results were sent. Best of luck to those still in the applicant pool.

for those who were accepted, what time did you receive the call?
also: i interviewed 11/2 & said decisions will start going out more by december

I wonder if rejections are going out in the order that applications were completed

Yes, from what I've heard it was people who hadn't received an interview yet. I haven't heard any news outside of acceptances from people who received interviews. Any word on people being waitlisted?
haven’t heard of anyone being waitlisted actually! just assumed since it’s also a possibility, but if it’s rejections for just ppl who didn’t interview then only denial makes sense

They told you guys more decisions will go out December? Do you know if they have more interviews December?

Decision day for other schools is Dec 13 I believe. Wonder if they will do it before then?

Deff can’t go off what they say on their website because June and July people have yet to hear back and that’s much longer than 2 months (I interviewed in July).

Hey everyone-

I applied in May, interviewed in June and am part of the “hear back by August” group.
I have to finally say something here. I really think that this is absurd. I understand there is a process and to go through it, but at this point, High Point is seemingly just lying. I waited 9 months last year to ultimately just not hear anything until they closed in February. I’ve been waiting 5 months this year. I read here everyone else feels the same or has it worse.

This has been an extremely taxing process and has been negatively affecting my marriage and my mental health. If the process is going to take time fine, but being left in the dark for so long and told to not reach out is gross. If I get accepted, I don’t even know if it’s worth it. Is the program going to be run the same way where as a student I don’t get answers or a reply is too late. This has me thinking this might be how the program is run and if that is the case, is it worth giving hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt to this school which doesn’t showcase professional communication or back their words.

It has made me see the school as kind of unreliable and untrustworthy. I think their actions are speaking volumes on this process and it’s broken me down a bit mentally. I needed to say something but I feel a lot of what I reviewed is their action and behavior.

I second this

Is there anyone that has NOT interviewed yet that also hasn’t revieved any updates?
I haven't interviewed yet. I also have not recieved any updates. My application has been saying application under review for the last two and a half weeks!

It seems they have waitlisted the remainder of applicants who have interviewed this cycle. I heard about 17 acceptances and all others waitlisted. So pretty much a non answer still.

You mean they will choose other 43 applicants from new cycles of interviews?

Honestly who knows. I don’t think they have finished making choices from the 250+ people who have already interviewed and they just used this as a place holder. If they had finished with decisions then rejection letters would have been sent out too. But this school has been misleading throughout the entire cycle so I give up on trying to understand them

How did you hear about the 17 acceptances?

I guess HPU made an acceptances group chat on group me and they send the link when they accept you. There are 17 people in it. So that’s not to say it’s DEFINITELY Only 17 but it’s probably a good estimate

I think there’s only two interview days left for January and February. On their website it states that later in the admission cycle, interview spaces are much more limited and difficult to secure. I wonder if that means they will choose smaller groups to interview, or if it will be harder to secure a spot among a larger pool of applicants now

it might be accurate actually! assuming they pick 1 person from each interview session tht has occurred monthly, morning & afternoon sess- ofc just my brain working overtime 😅
