Probably a couple of weeks, I applied the first week it opened, waited about 3 weeks to get to decision pending. Still haven’t heard anything however.
 
How long is your application usually "under review" before they send out an interview invitation? Also is there a way to see what date the status changed to under review from pending application review?

I don’t believe there’s a way to see the date when the status changed. Tbh I have no idea how long before an interview invite. I applied last cycle and had already gotten an interview by this point. I wouldn’t read into it too much however, although they’re this far into the process, it’s still early in the cycle in the grand scheme of things. I’m sure having their inaugural class right now is slowing down the interviews and what not.

Thank you! I applied and interviewed last cycle, and also received an interview by this point. However, I also applied much later in the cycle this year which makes the process very different LOL
 
Hey guys, so what exactly does high point look for in a student? Does anyone have any general info that might steer me in the right direction?
 
Does anyone know if you receive an interview invitation faster if you have a 4th quartile score? I read early posts about CASPER not factoring in very much in the application process, but I am really unsure.

Not necessarily, they say the test is used to boost a “weaker application” whereas you might’ve struggled in experiences or academics, if you do exceedingly well like you’re asking, it will be considered favorably. However they also say that if you’re a strong candidate, it will not even really count towards your application.

From what I have gathered they favor heavily the idea that you are well involved in everything you do. Not necessarily dental based (however that helps a lot with dental school apps as a whole), but taking a wide variety of classes, doing as well as you can, being involved in different clubs and activities, things like that.

I was wondering the same thing. Does anyone know if they're even having a session in September? I would assume yes, but I wonder if they might be cooling it on interviews till they get through admissions decisions on candidates who already interviewed.

I don't, I only know about it because some people at the previous interview said they were originally part of the September 27th interview but they were rescheduled to come in earlier.

Intriguing... 🤔 Yeah I wonder if they decided to cancel the September session altogether to free up time to make those admissions decisions before sending out more interview invitations... (Total speculation, but it's fun to think about 🤣)

Guys its been 3 months since ive applied and have yet to receive an application update or no interview. Ive pretty much given up at this point with checking for an update. I've officially registered to take my DAT and will start an intensive three month study journey tomorrow. I have to score high as I do not want to retake it.

Guys don’t trip, I think it’s still relatively early in their interviewing cycle. Keep in mind they just brought in their first inaugural class so that definitely slows things down. Patience is a huge part of the application cycle, we’ll be fine🤞

Does you application tracker say under review?
 
Im starting to believe that September interviews were cancelled completely bc this is the first time no one has mentioned that they're attending this month...feels like we're being kept in the dark

There was supposed to be one on the 27th but I think the ones who scheduled that date were offered to move theirs to August 30th. Not sure if it’s still happening on the 27th but yeah nobody is talking about it.

It definitely feels like we’re being led on at the moment though, as the applicants who interviewed in June and July were told we would hear back mid-late August. We’re mid September now and nobody’s heard back. A little frustrating, especially considering there could be people applying to more schools now and stretching their financials thin (which is something HPU states they want to avoid with their process).

It took 6 weeks for my application to be under review and im EC. Wonder how long it'll be until I reach decision pending let alone an invite :/ Might as well start studying for the DAT again
 
It was under review for about 3 weeks I want to say then it switch to decision pending and hasnt change since then.

Not sure I would say the school is leading you on. These are obviously tough circumstances with their new class, and probably didnt anticipate having so little time to do their admissions process. This is all new for them. I'm sure they moved around their Septembers interviews so that they actually could get the time to review applicants and even decisions on the ones who have interviewed and have been waiting for months about a decision. It absolutely is frustrating and I'm sure they are frustrated as well. Have to be patient.
 
Is there a certain quartile you have to be in to get an interview? I don't think I'm getting anything due to the casper even thought I know I would be great at any school.
 
My application portal just updated to Decision pending, hopefully that translates into an interview🫠
