How far is everyone moving to go to school??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm moving from Texas to Georgia, so not too terribly far. But I'm going to take the long way by going west, so it will end up being several thousand miles.

From California to Tennessee (about 2500 miles)! Pretty much all the way across the country, but I can't wait. Road trip! 😀

As of now 3,000 miles (east coast to west coast)! 😀

If I get in to one of the places I'm waitlisted at ~75 or ~300 miles...

Per Google Maps

651 mi – about 10 hours 37 mins

UT - AZ

Texas to Arizona-1053 miles, 15 hour 2 minute driving time, not accounting for two toddlers.

Anywhere from 100 to 3200 miles.

Top left to bottom right. About 3200 miles.

I'm coming from the Wisconsin to Virginia.. not horrible, but still a long drive

Malibu, CA to Kirksville, MO

Distance in miles: about 1800

Distance in culture: light years

A long 4.5 miles. :scared:

Texas to Pennsylvania. I need to update my wardrobe.

Michigan to Missouri---595 miles or 9 hours and 40 minutes

My previous state of residence....Minnesota. So, I'm thinking Mass or Maine for residency 😀

~300 miles

Moving from North Central to South Florida. Not sure, but that might require a passport now. Should probably brush up on my Spanish and Yiddish...

About 3 hours - maybe about 200 miles, I don't know.

Wyoming to Missouri

A grand total of 40 miles from my current apt. From my home town its about 300.

2000 miles in 28 hours....
OH to AZ and couldn't be happier

Today's weather in OH = 18 degrees and snowy 😡
Today's weather in AZ = 80 degrees and plenty of sunshine 😎

About 3 hours - maybe about 200 miles, I don't know.

EDIT: It's about 170 miles from my town, Lincoln Nebraska, to Kansas City, where I will probably be moving.

1300 or 1800mi :scared: but to warmer weather...🙂

Iowa to Tennessee about 800 miles and 12 hours

as of right now, Chicago to New York.... if i get it my way, Chicago to Los Angeles.

This is my favorite thread in a while.

Google maps says I can do 3193 miles in 1 day 22 hours. That's 85 mph, no pee breaks, no stopping for gas either. Good time to learn how to do a foley cath, maybe?

New Hampshire to Southern California, long live the road trip!

Yeah, it would be easier to just wear a diaper . . . like that crazy astronaut lady who drove from Texas to Florida without stopping.

New York to Florida: 1,301 miles (according to Google Earth)...21hrs and 27mins by car...or 2 1/2 to 3 hours...Sticking to East Coast Life

2,847 miles - from san diego, ca to old westbury, ny for NYCOM

Arlington TX ---> Bradenton FL 1213 miles

at least I get to trek it in my new Versa!

Good gas mileage is the shiznit.

Upstate New York to Kirksville, about 1155 miles. Ends up that out of all the schools I applied to I picked the one furthest away from home.

The only time I've been to the Midwest was for my interview, but I don't think the adjustment will be that bad. I'm used to living in small towns. Kirksville will actually be the largest one I've lived in.

Total Est. Time: 31 hours, 49 minutes

Total Est. Distance: 2177.40 miles

I love mapquest.

It'll be a much longer drive, though, b/c I'm probably driving out here w/a 16 month old baby. More than 6 hrs in a car with her at a time is torture. I still love her, though. I'll miss her a lot.

6.2 miles :luck:

Now if I only I could find a new place to live.....

CT back to home state of OH:
654 mi 😉

Provo, Utah to Tulsa, OK.

1,173 mi – about 17 hours 30 mins

Gotta love Google Maps

Chicago, IL to Bradenton FL.. a little over 1200miles.. 18hr33min by car.

Virginia to Iowa...1003 miles...~16 hours.

2,611 miles - Pittsburgh to Southern Cal via the more scenic US40 (West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas) rather than US70 (Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri). US70 would save me three hours, but the landscape is much less exciting. With either route, once I hit Oklahoma it's all the same.

a whopping 97 miles! woot! from brooklyn to south jersey via the scenic (and sometimes smelly) new jersey turnpike. watch out!

Pittsburgh to Bradenton = 1048 miles, or 16 hrs 29 min (!)

Total Est. Time: 17 hours, 29 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 1148.34 miles

Hmm, I must live damn close to you. I put in my address to LECOM B and I got 3194 miles.

I'm going to take your assumption that I'm going to LECOM-B as a clear and indisputable SIGN that I'm getting off their waitlist.

Otherwise I have to add about 150 more miles and go to Davie. AWESOME problem to have.

This is sort of off topic but the other day I put into map quest that I wanted to go the the Oregon Convention Center. I didn't know the address so I just wrote convention center and it gave me directions to the center of oregon
