I am a graduating senior and waiting until the summer to study for my DAT and applying in the next June 2017 cycle. I only have 3 more months at school so I need to gather my letter of recs now. Since I am not applying now, where do I tell my professors/dentist to send the letter too. Is there a place I can hold onto them so I am able to still submit them by next year? Anyone been in my position and can help me out, Thank you!

Also, what are the three letter of recs i need to get, a dentist? a professor? and a health advisor?

You could try Interfolio. I've never used it myself, but it fits the bill for what you seem to be asking. Most schools seem to take at least a dentist and 2 science professors for LORs; some schools require a humanities professor LOR as well.

This is probably something you should have thought about doing earlier. I'm personally taking a one year gap year and made it my absolute first priority to get my letters completed by finals week. If your school has a committee, use it. The person in charge should make a file for you and compile all of your information. I know my school personally holds all files for 5 years past your graduation date in case you decide to take time off, work, etc.

I had the same issue, OP. I graduated in 2014. I did take post-bacc classes, but I used Interfolio JUST IN CASE I didn't get accepted this cycle.
I definitely recommend Interfolio. It's not hard to use and you can keep your letters for as long as you need to (obviously for a price).

The kinds of LoR you need will differ from school to school (look them up), but a majority of them are:
- 1 from a dentist
- 2 from a science professor (bio or chem).

some schools want a letter from a bio prof and one from a chem prof. i've seen some schools ask for 1 science professor and 1 professor within your major.

if you have a health committee at your school, they can submit a committee letter.
hope this helps 🙂
