Hi all, sorry about the long post.
I am a nephrologist and have been out of fellowship for 4 years now. I always liked CCM but only thinking to pursue training in it. I am looking to apply for CCM fellowship in July 2025. I wanted to get some guidance:
1) what can I do between now and July to improve my CV?
2) anything I can do between July 2025 and June 2026 to improve my chances? I know folks in cardiology do a year of non-accredited HF training to boost their CV - any such thing exists in CCM? I’ve asked around and looks like the non-acc HF provides a decent exposure to cardiac ICU, bedside echo and VADs. Will that be helpful in a CCM application?
3) is it helpful to do any courses, like vent management, bedside US, or ECMO ti strengthen your CV?
4) also, I came across this Resus Leadership Academy course. Has anyone done that? Is that helpful?
5) anyone you know who I can get involved with in research to boost my CV?
I have a couple of publications, but they’re mostly nephrology related. I’ve about half a dozen or so case report abstracts, 4-5 nephrology, 1 cardiology, 1 CCM. Will hope to get some more accepted but don’t know how successful it’s going to be.
Any and all help is appreciated.
