St. Mary's and Waterbury are great and clearly the best. Both are Yale affiliates. Both are fairly high powered. My father is an attending at both and he states they are roughly equivalent in terms of exposure and training. If you have more specific questions PM me.

All of the aforementioned are 'Yale-affiliated'.

St Raphael's is in New Haven, so if you want to really work hard, I envision it may open up possibilities for collaboration with the main campus, and thus, a possibility for a fellowship.

The Bridgeport program has very good outcomes as compared to the others. The PD has been at this for many years, and is well known in academic circles. He is a PCCM guy, a sharp-shooter. Bridgeport has sent grads to Yale, Brown, CCF, etc. I know a grad from Bridgeport and you get phenomenal clinical training there. You WILL NOT have as many opportunities for bench research as university programs, but the PD can work on clinical projects with you.

I have heard that Bridgeport is the strongest program among these, but if someone has a relative who is an attending at one of those, he/she may have more insight.

so Bridgeport> St Raphaels>>the rest???... any info on Greenwich or Danbury?

Also, does the Yale affiliation give one an edge when competing against other fellowship applicants coming from community programs?

FutureCTDoc: ill PM you w/ more q's about St Marys and Waterbury. thx 🙂
