yeah sure!
Length: When I wrote my letter of intent, I had originally written 1 1/2 pages of reasons why I want to go there, why I think I'm a good fit, etc. I went to talk to my advisor about my letter of intent, and told me that 1 1/2 pages was waaaay too long. He said that these people are doing you a favor by reading your letter of intent, and you don't want them reading a looonnggg boring letter (similar to all the other letter of intents they probably recieve)..the shorter and sweeter, the better...then again, many people have a different opinion. In my experience, I trimmed my letter to about 1 paragraph, with a short sentence to end thanking them sincerely for their time.
Contents Talk about specific examples of what influenced your decision to make Loma Linda your #1 choice, whether it be individuals such as your interviewers, students, or alumni (and don't forget to name these people in your letter), experiences at Loma Linda, the environment, the Christian education, maybe possibilities of growth. Remember that you can learn medicine anywhere...what makes Loma Linda special for
you? Californiabound stated earlier in the tread that Dr. Nyirady wants specifics, and I cannot stress that enough. These specifics make you unique. They are experiences that have affected
you,not necessary all the other thousands of applicants. Last but not least, don't forget to let them know that you like their school so much that you intend on attending and withdrawing from other school at which you were accepted (which, of course, is the purpose of letter of
intent)
I addressed my letter to Dr. Nyirady, but the secretary told me that you could either address it to Dr. Nyirady, Ms. Edwards, or the admissions committee. Whatever floats your boat.
I hope this helped! Good luck with your letter!
