in all seriousness...I wouldnt really compare it with alabama/georgia as in my experience the state as a whole is maybe more rural than either of those (there really are NO big cities, at all). However, the university is good at spending money and so they tend to have nice stuff and good programs. little rock has a symphony and museums and stuff, obviously not on the scale you would find in the coasts. Its actually prettier than much of the south because it is so mountainous, especially this time of the year it is just beautiful. little rock itself is socially somewhat progressive, but the state as a whole is predictably "behind the times". its not the armpit of america it is made out to be, but there certainly is merit to a lot of the redneck humor. but if you like hiking/climbing/canoeing/fishing/kayaking/incest (jk) there is so much to do.
