"Cosmopolitan" and "Arkansas" doesn't fit in the same sentence to me...

I'm not from the US... so Arkansas would be a new experience for me... however, I am actually looking for a quite, laid back small place with excellent training, because the coasts dont really appeal that much to me. Besides, I've heard a lot about little rock being really pretty and a great place to live in... is it like the rest of the south.. like alabama and georgia etc.?

shore its cosmopolitan, why they go fishin with a rod and reel, not unsophisticated like them other parts where they just go a noodlin'.

in all seriousness...I wouldnt really compare it with alabama/georgia as in my experience the state as a whole is maybe more rural than either of those (there really are NO big cities, at all). However, the university is good at spending money and so they tend to have nice stuff and good programs. little rock has a symphony and museums and stuff, obviously not on the scale you would find in the coasts. Its actually prettier than much of the south because it is so mountainous, especially this time of the year it is just beautiful. little rock itself is socially somewhat progressive, but the state as a whole is predictably "behind the times". its not the armpit of america it is made out to be, but there certainly is merit to a lot of the redneck humor. but if you like hiking/climbing/canoeing/fishing/kayaking/incest (jk) there is so much to do.

Add my name to the list of those visiting Little Rock this fall.

Anyone know anything about this program and/or Worcester apart from what's on EMRA's site? Thanks in advance for any help.

Does anyone have an idea as to when programs stop sending out invites. I was curious because of place are still sending in mid-Feb, finding a plane ticket and scheduling will suck without sufficient notice.

Does anyone have an idea as to when programs stop sending out invites

when i applied the last invite i got was around the middle of december and by the time i got it and responded (i was out on the interview trail) i was put on the waitlist. the bulk of your invites will be between nov1 (if not earlier) and end of nov. i'm sure my invite in december was a "second batch/round" invite -- in other words they had left over spaces from people not coming and decided to add a second tier. and just fyi, some programs will never send you a rejection letter. if you start seeing places you applied to on this list/thread, and you haven't heard, chances are that you aren't getting an interview and possibily won't even get that reject letter.

Well I know of one program that was still offering interviews into the 2nd week of Feb. last year. They gave him a 3 day notice if he wanted to interview.

Todd, let me guess. Your #1 choice is become the Alpha class of the Cornhuskers.
