Can you establish residency in Iowa after your first year, allowing you to pay in-state tuition the following years? Can't find anything on their website. TIA.

Unfortunately, no. 🙁 If you're a military veteran or a direct dependent of one, you can appeal for IS tuition (requires quite a bit of paperwork, but it's a fairly easy process), however; if you're interested in that, you can PM me and I'll walk you through it. But other than that exception, if you're OOS, you will be paying OOS tuition.
 
According to the schools financial advisor I met on the applicant open house, she said you have to establish residency for over a year AND it cannot be for academic purposes... So hardly anyone has a situation where they can change residency status once enrolled.
