Is a W better than a C?

I took an animal science class this semester that is not required for my major, and it is also not a pre-requestie. I took it just for fun since it is a riding class and I thought I could take away something useful. Well it turns out it's terrible and the professor is very nitpicky. The way things are going it's impossible for me to get an A, might be possible for me to get a B but its more likely I'll get a C. I can drop it but I will get a W. Is it worth letting the C from a totally irrelevant class drop my GPA slightly to avoid a W or do W's really not look that bad? Basically - which is worse in the eyes of the vet school?

Probably worth taking the W as the C will hurt your GPA more than a W in a “for fun” class. Agreed with the above, though: don’t blame the professor as your reason for dropping.
