Hi guys, I'm a current P1 student located in Washington and I'm struggling to find IPPEs and so I'm worried about having to find 8 different APPEs in the 4th year. Although I had been able to do a couple IPPEs through my connections in retail and compounding. Without those connections I don't think I would have gotten any IPPEs done at all. I emailed around 10 different hospital contacts on Evalue, and most major hospital in Washington like (Multicare, St. Josephs, Kaiser, etc.) and I haven't even gotten a response back. I wish they could at least sent me a rejection or something. I'm would be happy with that so that I could move on and not be stuck in this in between limbo space. So now I'm thinking if it's this hard to get a hospital's response back, how did graduates from Creighton get APPEs to graduate the last year of pharmacy school where they have us do at least 3 required APPEs in different hospital settings. Just wanting to vent a bit here and maybe get some advice from a Creighton pharmacy distance graduate.

P.S. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong sub topic, as I'm pretty new to this forum and I'm not sure if this should go in the pre-pharmacy or pharmacy subtopic, thanks!

Have you tried asking students currently doing there APPEs right now (ie faculty providing list of P4s willing to share experiences/location)? Does Creighton give you a list of rotational sites that have historically taken on students? Does faculty have information on past sites that use E-Value or Core-Elms?

I take it you’re doing the distant pathway program. If you’re residing in the Northwest, then how limited are you? You willing to rotate through both Washington and Oregon?

For something like Creighton School of Pharmacy, I’d think they have a robust list of sites you could consider, however I’m sure they informed you during your orientation that the APPE placement falls on you correct? I’d say the trade-off for education being online is to save your money for APPE traveling expenses your last year…

If the financial trade-off is finding your own rotational sites and you feel the stress and travel is a bit much, may not be a bad idea to defer for brick-n-mortar education to avoid the matching headache altogether…Then again not sure of your living situation (non-trad with family vs single student).

Unless there is additional insight to consider, that’s probably the info you’ll find on here unless an actual alumni can give great recommendations in the NW region - hope that helps.
