does anyone know anything about financial aid?
At the admitted students day, we were told more info about scholarships, aid, etc would be coming during the summer. Might be good to fill out the FAFSA now though

I’m not an official source, so take this as well intentioned info:

At the admitted students day, someone in admissions said that over half the class was set, but did not provide any details on how many IS and OOS seats were filled. Historically the class is about 50 in state students and 70 out of state students.

They said the waitlist is quite long on purpose because a few years ago they went through the whole thing. Logically it would make sense for the out of state waitlist to be larger and have more movement than the in state waitlist… but again that is just my guess. I don’t have that actual knowledge.

It is in their interests to get the class filled sooner vs later so I would think that they would be moving quickly on contacting people accepted off the waitlist. That being said, history shows that they are still trying to fill seats into the summer months. So don’t get dejected if you don’t hear anything soon… a student accepted in July is just as qualified and worthy as one admitted earlier.

Lastly, and I know this is tough to do, but just focus on something else than SDN. Try and not fret about the whole waitlist timeline. The decision is out of your hands at this point. You’ve presented your application as best you can and it is up to the school to decide. You know that they will be contacting people off the waitlist at any time. It doesn’t help you to know that others are being contacted while you have not. Honestly… just ignore SDN for a few months. If (when… think positively) you get accepted then come back here and let us know. We will still be here. If you don’t get in (and I’ve experienced this reality multiple times) then you can come back here in the fall to discuss a new application cycle.

Be easy on yourself and your mental well being.

I'm OOS and I got pulled off the waitlist on decision day! I didn't expect to hear an update so soon. It took a few days of mulling it over, and while I am grateful for the opportunity, I have already committed to another school that I believe matches my interests better, so I passed the position on to hopefully one of you amazing candidates 🙂 I hope to hear good news from y'all soon!!

Good luck, everyone being pulled off the waitlist! I ended up being pulled in early July last year, so there is hope for everyone on it! I was OOS for reference.

Just for future reference for if anyone applying next year is looking back on this thread for information: I was waitlisted (OOS), and got an email from KSU yesterday (Monday the 21st) that the Class of '29 was full already and that the waitlist would only move if someone dropped their seat. While disappointing, it's good to know they aren't leaving people in the dark about what's going on!
