Everything Dogtor Ash said is correct. They are not MMI, there's a panel of typically 2-3 doctors (current profs or volunteer alumni), they last around 30 mins, and it is open file. The reviewers will look at your application beforehand and may ask questions about it. The interviewers just want to know you better as a person, and they are all very nice and understanding of students being nervous and anxious.
 
When do we think is time to give up if on alternate list. I felt very confident in my stats and still do but just want to know if there’s a date that we should be aware of when we will no longer be considered

I think the last interview is on the 18th, so if we don't hear anything by the 17th, it's safe to assume we're no longer being considered.
 
Is anyone attending the virtual candidate reception tomorrow? If so, what are you guys planning to wear to that? Do you think just a button down no blazer is okay?

I think a button down sounds great! The reception is not required and will not influence your interview so don’t worry too much about your clothing. That being said there will be ambassadors from each class there to answer any questions you have so coming with questions is very much encouraged!

Oh my god, same! They asked me so many scenario questions and I swear, all my critical thinking skills went right out the window the second they asked me a question. I thought KSU interviews were supposed to be more personalized?

I thought the same!! the ambassadors beforehand even said it’s more application based and not scenarios but all my questions were scenarios. the one time they asked a question regarding my app, i didn’t know the answer 😭😭 i just said i would have to do more research on the topic to give a good answer
 
I forgot to ask when we would hear back at the interview today. Does anyone know when Kstate will be getting back to us?

Last year they came back 2/2, and I think I saw on here somewhere that they typically aim for before Valentine’s Day
 
I actually thought it was very application based! My questions were kind of indirectly asking questions about my application, essentially allowing me to elaborate.

I thoroughly enjoyed the interview and the entire interview process. Good luck to those who have not done it yet! You’ve got this!

Glad to hear you enjoyed your interview! Maybe my application was just very average and nothing stood out. I did like chatting with my interviewers-they seemed genuinely interested in talking with me-I just thought the scenario questions they asked were pretty random.

Hey Class of 2029 Hopefuls! Senior student, Class of 2025 here. Just popping in to say good luck with your interviews 🙂 I have seen quite a few of you this weekend and hope you are enjoying your visit and tours of the hospital. Keep your head up and be confident! You were selected for an interview for a reason. Also, I remember being in your spot and obsessively checking SDN between now and letters of acceptance. For your mental health, try not to check so often! Again, YOUVE GOT THIS 😍
 
Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. Figured I should get around to making an account on here, as the information I've gathered from this forum has been extremely helpful. I'm an OOS applicant with an interview date at the end of this week. It'll be my first interview so I'm excited but nervous. Best of luck to everyone with your interviews!
 
Does anyone know what we should wear for the Candidate Reception? I was going to bring jeans and a sweater but I don't want to be too informal.

I went to the one last week, and you can wear whatever! It’s just sitting in the auditorium to hear about the school and listen to a panel
 
Just finished my Zoom interview! I loved the pre and post interview rooms where we could talk to the CVM ambassadors. That and the welcoming nature of the interviewers made it a positive experience.

Also, one of the ambassadors said we would hear back around Valentine's Day.

I was wondering if anyone would chat on here about some of the pros and cons of KSU? Would love to hear about people’s experiences who currently attend

I was told late February or early March by one of the student ambassadors, everything I've seen on here has said potentially around Valentine's Day. I guess there's a chance we hear back tomorrow but I doubt it.

They usually say the late Feb. time frame but the past years they’ve been earlier. Specifically it’s been the first Friday of February in the early afternoon for the last 3 years. It’s a little weird this year with February not starting until Saturday so idk how it’s going to actually go but hoping good things!
 
I was looking at old posts and they got it Feb 2.... which was 13 days after the last interview... feb 2 was a friday... tm is 13 days and Friday soooooo my guess tm
