Hi,
this is my first time posting in this forum.
I just received an invite for an interview on 1/13/2011 at LECOM-B.
This is a pretty late interview compare to the earlier ones, do i still have a good chance to get in since most of seats might filled up already?
The Spring and Colonial Grand
Do you have Yacht Club web site? I'm trying to google it but for some reason can't find it. I checked the recent rating for The Spring and lately it doesn't have good rating due to crime rate and troubles with the apt's management (late response to the tenant's issues, etc) But I've never been to the Spring so this is just what I saw online rating.
drhenpharmd is it possible to have a small water bottle during the interview for dry mouth?
I believe seats are filling up already... I was at the November 4th interview. And at each interview there was about 20 students. They have a morning and afternoon interview each day. So thats 40 a day... And I think that that point we were the 4th day of interviewing... So that would = about 160 students interviewed, for 125 seats I believe. Of course I'm sure they didn't accept everyone... But as the months go on, it does get harder. But than again its not january or feb yet... Once it gets to those months I'd say they are probably just interviewing for wait list.
Yatch club is nice, however it's quite pricey...still thinking lol
I was in your interviewing group, I believe. I work at Walgreens and live in Florida and I think I was talking to you some. Congrats on your acceptance! I got on the alternate list.Yacht club really looks like the best. Colonial Grand too. Anyone know about The Springs... Still looks nice and a little cheaper? I might want to live by myself 1st semester until I really get to know some people. And a 1 bedroom might be more it's looking like at Yacht or Colonial than The Springs. All 3 look pretty nice though.
Idk about Carlton Arms. Looks older...???
Anyone on here from the November 4th interview... I can't remember anyone lol.
At my interview on 11/4 they had small water bottles for us in the room we met in before the actual interview. There was a girl in my group that was sick and carried her bottle around and nobody said anything. I would just say to grab a bottle and take it with you when you leave the room since they're small anyways.drhenpharmd is it possible to have a small water bottle during the interview for dry mouth?

@ Henry,
Could you please send us the website for those appartments. I might want to stay in Yacht club.
also after we send the deposit, would the admission send us the health screening package to take it to our doctor? I just want to see if I'm on a right track.
thanx Henry for the last post about rotation. Can you tell us more about how students work in class, like do you guys also break into groups from the beginning and stay that way for the whole year?
Btw, Yatch Club really looks great and such a big difference compared with the price on westwood.
Hey, can you please reply to this on the alternate list thread at:

Under required letters and credits, it now shows four additional requirements that are not met. They are:
First ALT form
Second ALT form
Transcript One
Transcript Two
What does this mean?
Thanks
I'm right there with you. I received an interview invite Oct. 29th for Jan. 6th. A friend of mine applying for medical school thinks some of the individuals invited just recently for dates before ours might be filling the place of other students who canceled their scheduled interviews. Wishful thinking maybe? I hope this is the case :/I just got an interview for the end of January. Is it really possible that they have interviewed that many people already? Are there interviews every week? It kind of sounds that your saying if we have a late interview, then we are srewed!
Does anyone happen to know if we can pay the tuition deposit by credit card... Is there a form anywhere for this? Or maybe what is Lauren Somers e-mail so I could inquire about it. If anyone knows either of these things, that would be great. 🙂
Lauren Somers ([email protected])
the school asks to pay by check or money order....the school will send you the matriculation agreement, then you will send the check with the form..hope that helps..Does anyone happen to know if we can pay the tuition deposit by credit card... Those of you on the alt list, don't worry because atleast you're on the top of the list. Alot of last year's students did not get interviewed until atleast march/april. The reason they're accepting alot of students this early on is because MOST of them who get accepted end up giving up their seats anyways. As far as the interview go, if you've been invited, that means they're interested in what they see on paper. Now they want to know the person behind those grades. Who ever is your interviewer will make or break your chances of getting accepted. Be yourself, come with personality, keep eye contact, and smile.
With the late interviews, I think it's because the end of the semester is soon approaching and the faculty (interviewers) will be busy with getting finals together. You can always call and ask if there's an earlier spot available because students cancel their interviews all the time.
As far as apartments go, my personal rankings are #1 Yacht Club #2 Colonial Grand (the closest to the school) #3 Carlton Arms #4 Springs. Though the yacht club is a bit pricey. I would suggest you get a roommate(s) it will definitely come in handy financial wise, for studying, and maintaining a social life. Hope that helped!
Hi! Thanks for your input; but, I just wanted to clarify something. Being waitlisted in August 2010 or May 2011 does not make a difference. If you're put on the waiting list, your file is put in a drawer. Once all interviews are completed, they take all the waitlisted applicants from the drawer and rank them. Then, as the accepted applicants withdraw their applications, LECOM sends out acceptances in the order of the ranked waitlist list. Hope that makes sense!
Good luck to those on the waitlist, applying, and interviewing... and Congrats to those accepted!

I also wanted to clarify something. LECOM-B accepting students now does not have anything to do with anticipating students giving up their seats later in the cycle. In fact, last year most (as in more than half) of the students who were accepted ended up coming here. There is a good chance that we may go through less than half of the waitlist (which is usually about a class size), so if you are on it, please keep your seats at other institutions until you get an official acceptance.
Good luck,
Henry
P.S. Catt is right in that a few years ago, LECOM-B did go through most of the waitlist. However, each year that goes by, LECOM-B sees a lot more applicants, and therefore becomes a lot more competitive. I only say this because I don't want any students who are currently on the waitlist getting false hope. I'd rather let them discern their chances with some stats from last year.
hey everyone
did anyone besides me from Nov4th morning session got accepted?
I heard that the school is limited on the rotation sites and someone told me that her friend has to go to Alaska!!! I am not sure how true that is, but what do you guys, P2 or P3 think about this??
a friend of mine from Lecom in PA is going to Alaska and Hawaii for rotation and they are so excited b/c they'll have an opportunity to work in the army base..that's what I heard...personally, it is gud experience..but they plan to stay there for a short rotation only...

Are they being forced to go to Alaska? Who pays for board? Sounds expensive!
Are you guys from Florida?
I'm sure many of the accepted students will go to another school if they get in later. I was in the Nov. 4 interview too, but got alternate (prob because of my interviewer).
Regarding rotation sites and expenses for room & board; you pay for it.
