me too. to be in the top 10 and she said an offer in the next few weeks? it must be moving REALLY SLOW. Hopefully it'll be like previous yrs where everyone will get accepted off the list

I'm going to Atlanta next week and plan on making a decision by the 19-20th. So if I don't get promising news by then i'll be declining my Alternate spot! 😕

I've read this from some forums that with unaccredited schools you dont get Stafford loans and would have to pay on a monthly plan or something. Is that true?

I mentioned last time how I got into the other school in South Carolina...i think that when you call jackie back next week..you should explain to her or the Dean of students your situation. Just try to get an answer up front to see if Lecom will be extending an offer to you, or how likely it is to happen. Because you would drop the school in atlanta for lecom you said. A friend of mines who knows someone that knows someone told me and she said they wont have a reason to lie to you at this point anyways because they would know that you have another school on the line.

Well im pretty sure pcom gets stafford from what I can tell. But I think that's because it's medical school has accredidation. It also has pre-candidate status now too. But it is more expensive which blows. I'll make sure to mention it to her though. Especially since i'll be driving up there next week! Thanks!

Lets hope so! I just emailed Jackie to see how the list was moving along and for my rank. I was told I was in the top 30 as well and I would have figured by now to have received a phone call.
 
I just got an E-mail from Jackie saying since I am in an excellent position on the alternate list that I should start working on the marticulation packet and she attached the marticulation packet along with it anyone else get the packet?

i got the same email. looks like were in the same boat!
 
Sooo, I spoke with Jackie and she told me it is no longer highly likely I will receive an offer. She said it's still possible but that if I have another school I should probably pursue that path. I'm going to Atlanta Monday and unless I hear something, Monday 7/26 I plan on declining my spot on the list. Apparently the list is still moving slowly..good luck to everyone else on the alternate list! :xf:

aww, that really sucks. But at least you STILL do have the school in atlanta. The list is moving very slow 😕.

I have been browsing this thread for a while now. I received email from Jackie asking if I still wanted to be on the alternate list. I was on the top 30% but wrote her back to decline the spot on the list too. I figure there is very little movement on the list and decided to pursue my plan B. Good luck to everyone on the alternate list.

was jackies email recent? Im also in the top 30%, but didnt get that email though. It really must be moving extremely slow if shes asking top 30 kids if they still want to be on the list. sighh.

The email was dated the 7/12/10 which was this last Monday. Hope you all get some good news.

no news yet from the email with the matriculation packet and list of books. i plan on calling her next Wednesday if i dont here anything by then yet...because she said likely in a few weeks to get a call.

So, did you accept the offer? I know you were deciding between here and pcom! I was just at pcom yesterday! Me and my mom went on our own tour and got caught lol, but luckily they (limiat) were nice and just finished giving us a real tour! I've pretty much decided on pcom as according to Jackie the list is slow. I wonder how many were on? She said I was almost directly in the middle of the list. But once I sign my lease I'll decline my spot on the list, hopefully it'll give someone else a last minute chance!! 🙂

I emailed jackie just now to ask her have I moved up any...you should too to see how likely or when you could get called.

Yeah I just emailed her this sucks. I haven't even contacted Midwestern and they came out the blue and accepted me. I hope Lecom gives me an offer or I'd feel like crap for not finishing up my pre reqs for Midwestern. 🙁
 
Just got a response from Jackie via email. It looks as though from this email and from some of the posts on here...they send out offers on Friday.


"You are in the #2 spot on the Alternate List. It has been moving slowly. I have a few offers out that are due at the end of the week."

is it alot of prereqs? you should call them just in case to see if you can work it out somehow as a plan b to lecom.
 
Jackie just emailed me saying there are about 10 people in front of me and that she cannot predict my acceptance at this point but she told me to email her at the end of the week to see how the list is moving man I hate waiting and to give up a sure thing because of pre reqs is killing me 🙁

Hi guys,
i will be a p3 this year at Lecom Bradenton. i want to say welcome to ones who got accpeted and wish luck to those on the alternate list. i was also on the alternate and had to wait 3 months for my acceptance call. If you have any questions, then i will be happy to answer them.
 
:luck: I got accepted today! Jackie gave me a call around noon today. For all those still on the list, stay hopefully! I interviewed in January and waited a while for this.

Dude congrats hopefully I get that call :scared: I had to turn down Midwestern because there was no way I could've done the pre reqs.

I wonder why the list is moving so slow this year. I was in the top 30% and i'm starting to lose hope in getting accepted. 🙁

balla86, Stay hopeful, just keep in touch with Jackie and get constant updates with her. As soon as its almost certain that your going to get accepted, start finishing that packet... immunization takes a while...especially the lab tests.

I did accept the offer. I already told PCOM that I wouldn't be going. I hope someone else gets the seat. Its too bad we wont be classmates, PCOM sounds like an awesome school. Its just gonna be so much cheaper being at LECOM. more fin aid and less tuition.
 
Hi everyone, I'm about to decline my seat and LECOM, but I'm still waiting for UF to process my student loan. I probably will send out my denial letter tomorrow. so good luck to whoever gets in. Sorry for being so selfish.
 
I am currently looking for a roommate to rent an apartment at Springs Apartment at Braden River. I'm 20 years old and from Orlando, went to UCF for undergrad. I don't smoke or drink. I'm easy to get along with. I do have allergies so can't room with anyone that has pets.

I went down to Bradenton 2 days ago to look at apartments and the Springs is definitely where I want to stay at. I did take pictures. They mentioned that they only have a couple apartments left so I am trying to hold the spot as soon as possible. Preorientation does start on the 16th.

Thanks you're so supportive i'm getting worried I emailed Jackie earlier and I moved up to number 8 on the list I hope I get in I already started filling out pharmcas for next year i'm so depressed 🙁 because its almost the last stretch and i'm so close but so far.

if it makes you feel better... i was looking around on the portal on lecom right...and looking through the courses. it has a link to the classmates. currently theres 130, im not sure if not everyone is in the system yet or not but hey...thats a good sign..seeing as how they accept 200 a yr i think.

and #8 is not bad i was probably there once.

Yeah but classes start in less than 3 weeks I don't know how many more people they will be accepting.

at least you got a really good chance at it. i mean just like tat other girl i was suppose to room with...she got called up today. ppl can get called up all the way up until the very first day of school. just keep contact with jackie every couple of days. once u get the call, all the worries would be worth it.
