I have an interview on October 21st. I want to ask you some questions regarding to the interview and school.
1) Did they ask general questions, such as why pharmacy, why LECOM, strength and weakness etc.. like other students posted?
Yes, they will ask all of the above. Be sure to include personal experiences into your answers and not just speculations.
2) I heard the writing sample was an article summarization?
My writing sample was a response to the question: "Should doctors offices be allowed to give out free samples, and how does it affect health care in our society?"
3) Could you please tell me a little more about the curriculum? what do you like the most. I heard someone said that they like the program here is because the school let them do full-time clinical rotation in second year, unlike 4th year at other schools.
Yes, we are one of the few, if not the only, schools that offer IPPE (your first rotations) all at once. You will complete the entire IPPE in a 2 month block (40+ hrs/week). One hospital, and one community. Other schools will have a few hours a week for months. Trust me, you will learn much more having the entire experience in one block.
You do not do start the APPE rotations until your 4th yr like every other school. No pharmacy student can possibly know enough by 2nd year to complete an APPE rotation. We are also one of the few schools that teach pharmaceutics 1st year.
Any other suggestions for my upcoming interview is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. Have a great day.
