We'll both be in limbo NMR. I called my doc and he (well his wife) said the letter was mailed (to Interfolio) on monday. Which means it should be arriving in DC any day now. Then I can turn around and have it sent to everyone including Bradenton. We'll see if was actually mailed.

NMR, since you called, do you think we'll get decision letters?

I don't think we'll get anything until the DO letters are in since I was told that they won't give a formal decision until then, but I guess we'll find out in a few days. At this point I'm just hoping that the email means I'm not formally rejected yet. I wonder how much wait the DO letter will carry.

The other girl sitting at my end of the table across from noshie (dunno if she'd want her name on here) got accepted. I just texted her and asked. So someone did actually get in from our interview group lol

She's also got an NSU interview. She flew to ATL on the same flight as me so she kept me company in the airport before that flight and before my flight back to LA. We bonded over our obsession with checking SDN

Try calling again in a half hr around 3 when everyone is for sure back from lunch. I'm sure annette has a boatload of messages to get through so you may be better making a second phone call.

I was waitlisted. But I'm not too bummed. I'm more bummed that I wasted a day not studying for my Anatomy and Physiology II test that I probably just failed because I woke up sick as crap this morning.

I knew I would be waitlisted/rejected halfway through the interview conversation, so not a surprise really.

I am interviewing on oct. 22nd, but kinda scared now after seeing how many of you got waitlisted. and sorry to hear about your rejection dbdan, I interviewed here last year too and until hearing about your rejection/re-review I was very optimistic about gaining acceptance here, but not so sure anymore. hope something works out for you and all the other waitlisters

I was the gentleman in the charcoal-grey suit, lavender shirt, and shiny, striped tie. I sat across the table from DbDan, but two seats towards PeachyPhd.

Congratulations! Out of curiosity, have you submitted your DO letter?

I did. It was in my letter packet that my pre-health professions committee sent out. I wasn't sure my letters were going to make it in time for review, but they were faxed in Monday.

🙁 I don't like this, because you are so helpful and supportive and positive all the time on here! Although a SDN break would probably be good for any of us haha, this place stresses me out way too much lol. It is very early in the season Dan so keep your head up, everything will work out!

Haha in other forums (just places to talk, not SDN type forums lol) I have no problem discussing anything. Facebook chat and texting will always be welcome haha I just feel like it may be time for me to take a leave of absence and help myself for once. We'll see, I'll have to pass on my underdog spreadsheet management to someone else first

Found out today that i got accepted!!! this was my first choice school so ill most likely be withdrawingfrom all the others soon. also they said my 1500 deposit at erie will transfer to bradenton so no money lost there!

No I just had them sent via interfolio and they were not on a specific form.

It seems like there's a lot more waitlist/rejections than there are acceptances. Towards the end of the day, they requested that we be patient and just wait for them to contact us about their decision. Gonna have to exercise a little restraint!

Do you mean during your interview day they told you to wait for them to contact you? Or did you call the office? I called yesterday and then I called today... had to leave a voicemail and haven't heard back from anyone yet.

I did not call. I just interviewed yesterday. And since they asked us NOT to call, I won't be.

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, they already made decisions on everyone who interviewed 8/30 and before, and told us we could call yesterday afternoon if we really needed to. I didn't know when you had interviewed 🙂

I highly doubt half their class is full. They've only had like 4 interview days of 15 people each.

EDIT: P.S. Ughh, I have called the office like 5 times to try and find out my status and left 2 voicemails and haven't heard back. I guess I'll just need to wait. Patience is a virtue I suppose 😀 lol

i was anxious about the interview but once u start talking, u get into a flow and it becomes pretty relaxed.

I didn't get responses either, I don't think that necessarily means anything. Might as well wait for your letter because for some reason I cannot get a hold of Annette, I have left two voicemails and I don't know how everyone else is contacting her lol. I know I have the right number, I must just have terrible timing lol. I'm waiting for the letter, they said they would go out end of this week so that was probably yesterday or today I'm guessing.

A couple of comments though, and these are purely speculative. It is anyone's guess what schools use for GPA cutoffs. Even if they might not outright say they have minimums, in reality they might. For what its worth, if you want to be active in student government or eligible for other student positions or year-long rotation spots you MUST maintain a 3.0 GPA. A 2.999999 will get you outright rejected if you are applying for a position and will force you to resign from any student government position. Not saying this is the case with admissions, but at least with day-to-day operations, you have to maintain a 3.0 for some things.

Another comment is in regards to having your application complete. Not to sound harsh, but I think it's nice of them to even review your application, let alone invite you to an interview if you still have prerequisite grades, LORs, etc outstanding. Do your best to get ALL your material in as soon as possible. It goes a long way to showing your commitment and ability to meet deadlines.

Anyway, all of that is just my opinion, good luck everybody and try to enjoy the long weekend!

Funny you mentioned it, they actually wrote in my acceptance letter that my double A's and no cleavage was what did it for them.

With regard to the GPA cut-off it seems to be an odd subject. I've been invited to interview two years running with a sub 3.0 GPA but good MCAT. If they were to have a strict 3.0 GPA cutoff (just throwing out a number) and are inviting people to interview with less I think its horribly wrong of them to have people waste their money with zero chance. Then again, I don't think that is the case. Although I've yet to get a straight answer as to why I was rejected, then waitlisted, then received a rejection letter today...

As for getting materials in, I completely agree. Its only respectful to get all of the things you need in to the school as soon as possible. They invest money in reviewing and interviewing and holding up your application with things just because you are slow sending them gives a message that you don't want to be there.

Has anyone heard of examples of people getting in after applying this late, and approximately what were their stats (GPA, MCAT, etc.)?

Possible? Yes but you are SEVERELY limiting your chances. I have a friend who applied in February with a 3.97/25 and great ECs who got accepted to WVCOM and AZCOM (her only two interviews). I'd say unless your stats are very good you are hurting your chances by applying that late. I would rather maximize my chances by taking a year off and applying for the following cycle. Keep in mind if you don't get in they expect to see significant improvement as a re-applicant; which would be difficult between March and June.
