I found an outdated thread from 2004, so making a new one for students to post if there school is p/f.

I wouldn't pick a school just because it is P/F. It is almost asking for you to under achieve. Why would you push yourself when you know you are going to just get a P regardless. This has ramifications when it comes time to take the boards as well as residency. Not saying NOT to go to a P/F school but I certainly wouldn't think of it as a huge positive.

Not ours, for one. In general, residency directors don't like P/F because they have no way of discerning how a student performed. Faculty doesn't like them because there's no way of rewarding the top students. An "A" or a 95 means something, but a "P" just doesn't cut it.
And even then don't preclinical grades have little meaning?
MSUCOM is P/F, but there is still a ranking.
I think it's a common misconception to equate "not the most important thing" and "means little".
