LMU C/O 2028

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I wouldn’t recommend working your first semester. Enjoy the semester and get an understanding on how everything works at the school. Make friends and study hard. Most positions aren’t open until your second semester. The most common position is tutoring and based on hourly pay. You could also work in the models shop or do summer research with professors as well.
I don't want to work right away but want make sure I have enough to afford everything 😊

Hello! My husband thought it would be smarter to buy a house vs renting a room. I was hoping to pick someone's brain who is currently going to school and also purchased a house! Did school loans affect your house loans or vice versa? Just want to make sure I wont have any issues with pulling loans for both. Also curious for those that did this, do you regret purchasing while in school or was it worth it? I have never purchased a house so the thought of doing that while starting vet school is a little terrifying! haha

I have a few classmates that did this. I would recommend emailing Ciera so she can get you in touch with student ambassadors that have also purchased houses.

There are 99 people in the Facebook group now :/
Hey, I just finally got added to the facebook group and at least 4 people in the group are admin so the true number is closer to 95! There may be a few more admin in the group as well, but they weren't as clear cut so didn't want to include them in my count. I hope you all hear good news soon!! 🙏

How many people are still waiting to hear? I'm just trying to get an idea of how many people are waiting vs. how many people are in the group (110 currently)

I'm with you! ... we got a Waitlist Support group on FB aswell you can join, not affiliated with the campus but just for us to discuss amongst one and other.

I’m waiting as well! I interviewed almost a year ago in July and had my file review two weeks ago. Mikishi told me if I don’t hear anything by June 30th, I should think about reapplying by then.

I think they’re done sending acceptances. It’s been a very long time since I’ve seen anyone get one. I think it will just be sporadic for when people drop their seats.

I got off the waitlist yesterday!! Declining as I’m going to another school. Good luck everyone! 🙂

Haha I hadn’t thought to say anything and then I saw your post and was like wait! I have info! 😂

Hey waitlist pals, just thought I'd mention a couple things here real quick. I had a file review with Mikishi last week and it was really encouraging and pretty helpful. I would encourage you to pursue one if you haven't already. She also told me that we will get an email when they are done sending acceptances. So, we will hear either way eventually.

Thanks for this info!

Did she happen to mention how many seats were open still - I'm guessing no but a girl can hope lmao

I didn't even ask because a) knowing doesn't change anything for me and b) didn't figure there was any way in hell she would've told me lol

121 members in the Facebook group now. I took the CASPR and submitted my app for spring and fall last night🥲

Just got a rejection. Anyone else? I’m wondering if the class is finally full.
I saw a few other people on a Facebook group did as well as myself. I already have an interview for the spring class though 🤞

When were interviews for the spring start around this time last year? There are only 7ish interview slots for interviews on July 29th of this month for Jan 2025 start, but I haven’t heard anything else about other interview dates?

Y'all Holly called me today and left a voicemail and said she was "calling about my application for the fall admission cycle". I called back and left her a VM (it's after hours there already and I didn't see it until after work). Did anyone get a last minute invitation for a seat via phone? What the heck else could this be about?

for added context, I've already submitted my app for next spring and fall and scheduled an interview. surely this wouldn't be about NEXT fall?

I saw a FB post that someone got a call today offering them a seat for this fall! They have to decide by tomorrow. Crossing my fingers for you!

Hey everyone, I have deferred till next spring. is there any possibility to join this fall.

Any update?!
Not a seat offer 😵‍💫 She was checking in to see if I would still be interested and be able to be there within 24-48 hours if someone drops out at the last second. 🙃 I told her yes. She said as of now the class is full, and I'm at the top of the list, so I guess that means I was literally one waitlist position away from being offered a seat, which is a tortuous thing to know. 🤡

Anyone who deferred til 2025 still have their deposit named spring 2024 in their account? Just wondering if I should reach out to admission to get that fixed.
