AOFAS Introduces Consumer Awareness Campaign

These public/consumer campaigns are such a waste of money. I'm gonna have to go back through some old files and refresh myself as to how much money the APMA spent on "Today's Podiatrist." Wonder how many new applicants that brought in and how many more patients local pods started seeing who came in because of it...I'm sure the answer is in the hundreds of thousands.

In other news, the New Jersey Podiatry supergroup found a new way to pay someone pennies for their work while the partners profit...fellowship position(s)!

Hmm, this is an uncharacteristically negative post from dtrack22. Usually I'm the one offering cynical commentary.

Excellent post. And the part about the NJ group figuring out a way to take advantage of young pods for their own financial gain is sickening. But when you realize the guy who started it all and the practice Mgmt group he started, it's no surprise. A sleazeball.

Aren't there any DO Ortho foot and ankle docs out there?

Not trying to generalize, but that is rare unless it is a DO-specific teaching hospital. Most hospitals that have orthopaedic specialists usually prefer to onboard MDs or Surgical Podiatrists.

Orthopedists , when ever it comes to foot and ankle, relegate responsibility to podiatrists. I think its DANGEROUS for patients seeking foot and ankle care from orthopedists sans foot and ankle specialty training.
