Hello all,
I graduated dental school in 2012. After 4 years in private practice I decided to apply to OMS. Because I had not taken the CBSE, I only applied to programs that did not require the CBSE. As expected, I did not get any interview invites, let alone match. I graduated with a 3.8 GPA and scored a 92 on my part I of NBDE. I am currently studying for the CBSE to strengthen my application. My plan was to apply for internships this cycle to show the programs I am a dedicated applicant, and apply again in May. I have applied to over 25 programs and I have either not heard anything, or have been informed the positions have been filled. I have been told by several programs being a general dentist for so long is working against me. If I don't get an internship is it even worth applying again (assuming I do well on the CBSE)? Or is this just a pipe dream? I would welcome any advice you all may be able to give me.
